Ways of Worship: Hypnos
If you ever need a God that’s soothing and super chill, Hypnos is your guy. Hypnos is the God of sleep and sometimes dreams. He’s a minor God and the son of Nyx, the Goddess of night, and Erebus, the God/personification of darkness, as well as the twin brother to Thanatos. His Roman form is Somnus. Even though he’s considered a minor deity and “lazy,” he’s actually very powerful. Along with the “standard” things a God can do, Hypnos could also levitate or fly and has complete control over sleep.

Ways of Worship: Ares
Ares is the God of war, courage, strength, and male virility who is often described as the physical, violent, untamed aspect of war. In a more modern twist to his legend Ares is seen as the God of fighting and war against everything, not just physical violence but also ones fight with their inner demons, mental illnesses, and social issues. He is also seen to be one of the Gods who helps and guards veterans and soldiers during and after war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians and son of Hera and Zeus. He's not married but instead, he's the lover of Aphrodite. This casts him in a bit of a negative light as Aphrodite is married to Hephaestus, the God of fire, metalworking, sculpting, forges, and stone masonry. His Roman for is Mars.

Persephone is the Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld. She is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter and the wife of Hades. Her lore is possibly one of the most controversial and well known in Greek mythology. However, no matter the story she is known to be even stricter and far less forgiving than her husband. She is often the one to convince hand out strict and harsh sentences for the dead if they have done something wrong that puts them in The Fields of Punishment.

My Coming Out
Oddly enough, I have two coming out stories. Stories of when I looked my parents in the eyes and hoped beyond all hope that they accepted what was about to come out of my mouth. The moment I got up enough guts to tell the people closest to me, who I've lived with my entire life, who I really am. Such a simple thing, such a small part of what makes me but a heart-pounding, nerve-wracking, gut-wrenching three words that change everything but nothing at all. An experience that I know I share with many, a fear with thoughts I know many others have had running through them. I am bi.

A Witch's Guide to Faeries
If an object were to go missing in your house and you can’t find it anywhere there is a possibility that faries took it. They like shiny or pretty things for themselves or their homes. To get this object back I suggest writing a small note to the fairies asking for this object back and explain its importance. Leave the note out and/or around the area that the object was last seen. Don’t forget to leave an offering for the fairies, though. In the note tell them that they can have the offering in exchange for the missing object. Usually the fae will accept pressed flowers, herbs, jewelry, nuts and seeds, fresh flowers, berries, shiny or pretty stones, or milk and bread. If you have left one offering and the switch has not been made try leaving a different offering as different fae like different things and it might simply not appeal to that particular fairy or type of fae. Remember to always be respectful in your letter or notes. If the object is not returned, then perhaps you lost it somewhere else or the fae are simply being dicks.

A Guide to Candle Magic
Using candles to perform spells or other magic, often times the candles are anointed in oil and used for a specific purpose depending on colour. Candles often run off the basis of two basic spell casting principles: symbolic manipulation and marking/sigils. Symbolic manipulation is simply the placement or movement of the candle while marking/sigils is carving notches or sigils into the candle to help envision a certain outcome. The notches are placed in the candle to signify each passing day. Every day the candle is allowed to burn down another notch while concentrating of the desired outcome. Often times this is performed in the evening for three or seven day time periods. A candle, when set in the center of the work area, generally symbolizes the castor or the person the spell is being cast upon. Candles of desire are placed around the center candle and every evening moved slowly towards or away depending on if you wish to banish or attract. Candles can also be used in simple spells to simply signify the act being cast with the lighting of the candle and the spell being cast with the candle being blown out. Candles can also be used to represent fire when placed on a pentagram.

The Witches' Guide to Elementals
Mystical creatures have power over and dwell within the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. "Elemental" includes gnomes, sylphs, salamanders, and undines. Some Elementals can also be creatures that are spirit-like in nature and human-like in appearance. While each elemental is different and has a different personality, they tend to share characteristics with other Elementals in their element. For instance, a fire elemental is passionate and easily angered while an earth elemental is grounded and takes a lot of time to think/reflect or act. Often, Elementals are found close to a certain area where their element is most prominent, however, over the past few years they have been seen less and less. For all Elementals, it is very dangerous to your and your bloodlines' health to misuse their aid or deserve them.

The Ostara (Easter) Feast
Ostara, otherwise known as the Spring Equinox, is on March 19th to 20th. It's the time where light and dark are balanced. As the Lord's strength increases, the Lady celebrates her fertility, life begins anew, and it's time to plant seeds, flowers, and work on your garden. It is also said to be the time that Persephone comes back from the Underworld to her mother. The Christians adopted this celebration as Easter and it is widely commercialized today as a mass celebration. No matter what tradition you celebrate, this is a time to celebrate with friends and family, possibly a few chocolaty treats as well.
