For better or worse
I have failed more often than I have succeeded. In 1983, I was discharged from the military due to an injury and disability, I wasn't even twenty-three. In 1989, I graduated from college with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. I thought I was all set, but I wasn't. I felt proud of my degree because I only had a g.e.d. I had studied hard and had decent grades. I was in for a shock when I started going for interviews. No one would hire me, they all said the same thing, "it's nice you have your education, but where is your experience?" At this time, the federal and state government put a hiring freeze into place, thus making employment for recent graduates difficult. I had been working in the airline industry and wanted to leave it, but knew I couldn't until I had a better job. I would get interviews but no offers. Finally, I stopped looking for a job in my desired field.

Living in the closet
Gay rights has come a long way since I was a child during the 1960's and 1970's. So why when it is so widely accepted would anyone stay in the closet in 2021. Security is the biggest reason. If you are caught in a homosexual act in a Muslim country, you are either beheaded or thrown from the highest building in the city.

The Oath
I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God

Angel Flights
Angel flights are an important component to the US Military. It is the flight that is taking our fallen home to their final resting places. These soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines have come back from Europe, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. They all have the same thing in common, they paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. As veteran of the US Armed Forces, I believe that all gave some and some gave all. If you want to see a definition of a hero, go down to your local Veterans Hospital.

My Passions
When I was in the military, I realized a simple 110 camera wasn't going to be a reliable long term use camera. A sergeant in my company took me to the post exchange and he helped me pick out a Pentax, K-1000 for my travels. This camera was a 35mm camera, better photo quality. After I spent a lot of time taking trips, pictures, etc and spending a fortune on developing my photos my sergeant showed me how to develop my own film. Europe has always been my favorite vacation spot, now I am looking to go to Asia. But now the camera's are digital and you can print your own phots at Walgreens etc. Unfortunately, due to numerous moves all of my photos from my military days are gone so now I need to do them again, which is expensive. I also host my pictures on picfair another expensive venture plus marketing.

My Colors
Red is for the blood that every man bleeds. There is no black, brown or white blood, just red. It means we all bleed the same. Red means life. Red is also my favorite color. The red in the the American flag stands for the blood shed for freedom, maybe the red in the LGBTQ flag stands for the same. I am unique because of this color. All of the colors of the flag mean something. But red stands out.

My teenage years playlist
All of us who are adults had to pass through what our parents dreaded called the teen years. When we became parents we all dreaded to see those years as well. Every generation has their own history, and music is no different. My parents had music from the 1950's, as a young boy I was able to enjoy music from there decades, the 50's,60's and 70's not that the 80's was bad but I was no longer a teenager. I don't know what happened to music after the 1980's because it became more vulgar, sexualized, and violent.

Why I Served
On December 13, 1978, I had just passed the entrance exam to enlist in the Army. That evening I was on a Trailways bus leaving Roanoke, VA going to Richmond, VA. I went to th hotel and checked in, then out to eat and to bed. On December 14, 1978, I went through an entire series of medical examinations that included, x-rays, visiting a psychiatrist all the way to getting caught up on my vaccinations. I was then taken to a room where over one thousand of us to the oath of enlistment. After we had said, so help me God it was then that most realized we had just signed a blank check payable to the United States government payable for an amount up to and including our lives.

Cancel Culture
Why is the cancel culture so scary? The first amendment allows for freedom of speech and religion. The first amendment guarantees you the right to have an opinion, even if it differs from others. Now, the cancel culture wants to do away with it. The first amendment is backed up by the second amendment which allows you to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed. Again, what part of shall not be infringed do politicians and the gun grabbers not understand.

Proud to introduce Taj Farrant guitar player
I first discovered this kid about a year or so ago, I had to see more and hear more. As I did it became apparent that this kid had some serious talent as well as a bright future. In this video Taj explains how he was introduced to playing the guitar, and how he came to pursue his dream. This platform was a wonderful stepping off point for him. Many of his fans believed that his audition was golden buzzer worthy. Many of his fans felt he deserved to be in the finals of this competition. Like many fans did we all sent messages of support and encouragement to our young star. He publicly thanked Australia's Got Talent for allowing him to be on the show. Mature young man. Before this appearance he was featured on the Ellen show. Since this appearance he has performed with many stars, the most prominent name would be Carlos Santana. If Carlos Santana allows you to share the stage with him, then that is a major endorsement of anyone's talent. I am sure it is a moment young Taj will never forget.
