Where'd Van Gogh Go?
Vincent Van Gogh arguably one of the most well known painters in the world. Best known for his landscape titled Starry Night and cutting off his ear for love, was believed for years to have died by sucicide. Not a difficult thing to image since he was not stranger to bodily harm. But recently some new theories have arisen to make many people, including myself, believe that his death was actually MURDER!
How I Started Upcycling
If you've ever thought of taking a pair of scissors to an old piece of clothing, you should do it. It all started with an old pair of jeans that didn't fit well anymore and a dream. (And a pair of scissors, needle and thread). The plan was just to cut a simple hole in the pants and pray that the pant legs would work as sleeves. I may have over cut it, I accidentally detached the sleeve part, but I put it back together, so I think it's safe to say it turned out pretty good. Especially considering it was my first upcycling project.
American Girl Made
Yep, that's me... making cringe YouTube videos about an 18inch piece of plastic. When I was much younger. Younger than I can really remember. My best friend and I got our first Maplelea Doll (which is like the Canadian version of an American Girl Doll). It started with one, than two, than three, and it ended with five dolls. Five expensive dolls, with expensive clothes and items. I was very lucky to be able to buy some of the coolest itty bitty doll toys, like a moped scooter or a full wardrobe, but I also made a lot of my doll toys.
My Pride Playlist
My Pride Playlist: Don't mind the gummy worms. Happy Pride! This is my first pride and I'm very excited. I got my super fruity playlist here with me today to help celebrate. I recommend checking out one or all of these songs and artists! I would say my music taste is kind of all over the place, and there's not much of a theme, or genre, etc., other than LOVE! Not all of the songs are specifically LGBTQ+... but the vibes I get from them could be interpreted in that way (or at least I interpret them in that way). Some LGBTQ+ artists that I have included on this playlist but I suggest looking into for amazing songs are Rina Sawayama (for some hard-er-core songs that go hard!) and Raveena (for those sweet summery, butterfly, vibes, that move you like honey). If you're reading this, I hope you have a lovely pride, even if you're not out yet, that's totally fine, and I hope than that you can celebrate still. Maybe pop in some earbuds, pop on those headphones and listen to these tunes!
Flowers of Summertime
Are they the flowers that live with the dead? A gift from above, come rain and sunshine, To sleep through summer on top of their head.
How I came to love brown eyes
I have always loved my blue eyes. The colour of tears against skin. Bright as a summer day, And pale as a winter’s. Swirling pools of the varying depths of the ocean.
