Ritchie Valens: Meeting Bob in the Strawberry Fields
One Brother’s Story My favorite small-time rock band is Hell On Wheels out of San Francisco. Frontman and songwriter, James Craig Paylor had quite the interesting story of meeting Bob Morales. Many people enjoyed a reboot of Ritchie Valens’ music when the movie premiered in 1987. The movie continues to captivate audiences on vintage movie nights everywhere. Here is an excerpt of JCP’s experience learning a bit about Ritchie’s life from the inside.

Blind Dating? There's An App
Blind dating? Is it coming back into vogue? Why bring back that horror? Cycling back to the days of yore (before smartphones and Tick Tock) way back to the time when telephones were wired into walls and were usually located in the kitchen (we could call it the 1970s, or you could even go later on the timeline). Many of you might have to remember back to when you had that well-meaning friend who wanted to set your love life on the right track. Perhaps these friends had your happiness in mind, or perhaps they had read too much of Jane Austen's work.

Dancing with the Sandman
Dena Kay liked to take me to the movies when she didn’t have anyone else to ask along. I liked going, as of course, I would like to go just about anywhere. After all, it wasn’t a whole lotta fun, and also rather tricky, having to play dodgeball by oneself. Dena Kay just loved scary movies. She liked to watch me squirm and sometimes scream, so she took me to see Count Yorga Vampire at the local movie place. That movie made a mark on my existence, to say the least. Yep, there is always that one movie that reaches out to me now, well beyond the years, and the more horrific the scenes….the better.
