Bio
I'm a wife and mom, and this is my creative outlet. I am experimenting with lots of different writing styles and topics, so some of it is garbage, and I'm totally fine with that - writing is cheaper than therapy. Thanks for stopping by!

A Small Act of Kindness
Midway through February 2021, and shortly after moving to Arkansas, my family witnessed a week of historic snowfall in our state. My three-year-old watched the snow coming down with his little nose pressed to the glass of our frozen windows, mouth open in awe as it piled up by a foot, and then another foot. My husband joyfully poured peppermint schnapps into his hot chocolate and kicked back, all work put on hold for the week as the entire city of Little Rock came to a standstill from the unprecedented winter storm. As for me, I spent most of the blizzard in the kitchen, savoring the warmth of the oven and stove as I prepared all of our family favorites, having stocked up the week beforehand when I saw the weather forecast.

Gemini: A Season of Transformation
Gemini, your season is upon us. A mutable air sign, you have a reputation for being vivacious, outgoing, and busy, but can also get a bad rap for being flighty, impulsive, and sarcastic. Represented in the zodiac by the twins, duality is in your nature and your friends and acquaintances often describe you as multifaceted, a person of many interests and talents.

Reducing Our Consumption of Animals Is Our Last Shot At Saving Earth
Stop eating meat and dairy: it's an unpopular directive. Browse any Facebook groups for five minutes and you're likely to come across multiple cringeworthy memes about veganism and vegetarianism. Where I come from in the southern region of the U.S., fried chicken and grilling out is a way of life. Only 14% of the world population identifies as vegan or vegetarian...and while that is up from other years, that means that 86% of the world population has likely grown up consuming animal products. And that's a hard habit to break.

Easy Vegan Fruit Cobbler
Summertime. The sun is out, the weather is warm, things are growing, and if you live in the South like me, you're baking fruit cobbler. It might sound odd to want to bake during the summer months in the hottest, most humid region of the United States, but as all good Southern cooks know, it would be borderline sinful not to take all of the fresh fruit produce being sold at farmer's markets and roadside stands that dot our countryside this time of year, chop it up, and throw it in a delicious, sweet crust. This vegan fruit cobbler recipe is simple and will have you out of the kitchen and enjoying a delicious dessert in no time!

Sweet Potato Biscuits
Spending the night at my nana's house was always an adventure growing up. She has a gargantuan playroom that was full of all our favorite toys, and her house sits on several acres of property in the Tennessee countryside, complete with a pond, a golf cart, a wide front porch, all kinds of wild birds and animals, and basically anything a country kid could desire.

Who Saves the World? Girls!
It's no secret that our planet is in crisis. Climate change caused by carbon emissions driven by human-fueled consumption causes glaciers to melt, oceans to rise, atmospheric and air quality issues, and an undeniable trash problem in our communities and oceans.
