It's Your Big Sis Kriss
Confident Builder & Energy Booster
I need to get OUT! I know, I know this might sound strange (actually given that we are in a world where we can only mingle with 6 people and have to deal with a 10pm curfew (UK style), I guess this is far from strange) but I had nothing better to do on a Friday night then go to a bar and write a blog!!
Dear Black People... From the melanin of your skin to the beauty of your culture... OUR...LIVES...MATTER!! I am half Anglo-Indian and half Jamaican. I never really fully understood who I was growing up until I had my first experience of racism...then more than ever I understood who I was!
Hey Gurlll & Welcome To The Safe Zone! The A.Q Talk Social Meet Ups "The Alpha Queens Talk" Is about women coming together and being able to build confidence in their life again through social networking with other like minded females and or concentrating on their physical/fitness journey. Through fun girly chats and networking, "The A.Q Talk" allows women to open up or simple listen, about how they overcame, overcoming or trying to start their journey to overcome what held/holds them back in life. We are here to help give that positive encouragement to help build confidence back into yourself again!
Quarantine...Quarantine, OH how I hate you Quarantine!!... or do I? Pre-Quarantine Story March came and I was blessed enough to celebrate my birthday (yayy she's a pisces) just before lockdown. A few days after my birthday, the company I work for were kind enough to allow us to work from home if we felt it was safer to do so (due to this pandemic) before lockdown was imminent. Working from home had it's challenges (as we all know) causing a lot of lows and even facing depression for many others. I was in the "low" part for best of a week and a half until eventually I had to snap out of it and find the "new normal" in lockdown.
Where to start... Massy Arias aka MankoFit is AMAZING!! First of all, I whole heartedly want to say that this woman is an amazing influential human being, that spreads love and such a HUGE amount of positivity. I first came across Massy a year after I started properly getting into fitness and boy did she give me LIFE and strength. She opened up to us from the very start and was an open book, completely transparent and had nothing to hide from the people she wanted to help... for this, I will always have respect for her. She came from a place where she was heavily depressed and used fitness to overcome her depression, build confidence and to inspire millions.
"Hey gurll, my name is Kriss Jordan, what's yours?" To first help others build confidence, I had to realise that I had to have some sort of confidence myself. This was the first step I took to figuring out my path on how I can help my gurlls out. After this, I had a very real but at the same time SO unreal cinematic, movie like flash back moment of all the unhappy situations I had gone through in my life, that actually made me more confident and boy was that a sad time for me (emoji sad, one tear crying face).
How it all began.... December 2014 was the year I started my journey in fitness...well, not technically but I was physically around all things fitness. I started a job as a receptionist in a well known gym and met wonderful people who loved to work out. It wasn't until... you guessed it, the news years resolution season came to pass and well, I made one "my new years resolution is to TRY and keep up with fitness" and so I did, I tried.
