SKYLANDERS
REPORT FROM SILVERWING: “We’re the good guys. Our ancestors went above and beyond the call of duty to battle an intergalactic mob boss. That heritage makes us VALIANT! The denizens of Sixth Earth trust our authority for the most part. The Underdwellers still require our persuasion; and the Aquatitans, despite our best bids for their support, have not chosen aside. The Aquatitans have yet to choose to be our allies in a benevolent rule over Sixth Earth; I have not lost enough hope to declare them our enemies. Yet.

MUTIES
Night fell hard and fast with a steady twilight rain. Downtown New York was a ghost town of boarded up churches, gyms, restaurants, bars, and the local hardware store. Strangely enough, the liquor store remained unaffected by the Governor's orders. A terrified, suspicious, and confused citizenry had given a freshman governor a vast degree of control over their actions. Like any other young, inexperienced egomaniac with the offer of a lot of power on the table, the governor took the offer of enhanced powers and ran with it.

IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY…
The Grand Valley days. Oh; to be “young” (at turning 24 the next day) and in love (with an unrequited something) again! I had met (did I call her “Racquel” or something in “The Bachelor” story? Yeah; we’ll call her “Racquel” here) my second semester at GV. We were part of the same Campus Ministry Spring Break Trip (“Campus Ministry” girls were, by default, slightly more humble and kinder; and we already had at least one common factor to share). We would go to Sarasota to help repair “Habitat For Humanity” Houses (“Helping build houses helps build bonds.”)

I’M A STANGER HERE MYSELF…
“Have you ever walked alone at night; like a man against the world?” (Survivor). “I walk a lonely road; the only one that I have ever known!” (Greenday) “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely!” (BSB) “Oh, yeah (I’m alright); I just feel a little lonely tonight!” (Tom Petty). “You were just a face in the crowd!” (Petty).

THE SEA-HEART
From the Diary of Princess Mercia… We are Aquatitans; Aquarius is our home. The land of this Sixth Earth is a scorched plain by a burning sun; or an arctic demise due to a devastating winter. The skies are alight with electricity or smog; and are prone to hunting forces. The sky and land of Sixth Earth have constantly given themselves away to war. None can exist on Sixth Earth by day during ¾ of the year; or night OR day during the Tundra. Land dwellers have been driven underground and only technology, and an insatiable appetite for conquest, can continue to save the dwellers of the sky. Aquarius is our safe harbor and the only haven that Sixth Earth has left. In our strength, we Aquatitans keep it that way; and in our wisdom, we do not use our strength to intercede in affairs beyond our own. Sixth Earth’s demise was due to former generations; and THESE Earth-dwellers would live beneath the ground rather than clean up what is around them. As for the Skylanders, they are bitter, cold, and would not advance a conflict if they were not surrounded in the technology to make it worthwhile. Our place is in the sea; my father has always told me so. To even enter a scorching Earth could lead to great sickness for me; or lead to a misunderstanding that my walking the land would mean that my people have chosen a side. If I had listened with a diplomat’s brain and not my youthful heart, I would not have lost the Aquatitans’ Heart, our greatest treasure; and a presumed token of alliance should it be returned…

The Underdwellers
A decimated and desolate land of Sixth Earth is all that I remember from childhood. Years of warfare, pollution, and plague have, tragically, shaped THAT future. No one would dare walk the land of this Earth for very long; for, during the day, an intense warm or a decimating Winter could be a person's downfall; by night, we fear the hunts of the Skylanders. Seas still surround Sixth Earth where the Aquatitans may live as they have not pledged their warriors and resources to a side yet. History has already created the rift between Skylanders and Underdwellers. That is WHY we stay to our underground lairs for protection and may only venture upward for brief stints at a stretch in search of resources. To live only to our tunnels is no way to woo the Aquatitans to the side of justice. Nevertheless, the Skylanders in their constant hunts for new prey and their misuse of advanced war technology have never convinced the Aquatitans to join them either. Virgor leads us. He is a good leader; a headstrong, former military commander who will keep himself in front of danger for the family pack. Lotek is as close to a technician and weaponsmith as we are about to find in our Underearth; and, though we will never boast a technological advantage over the Skylanders, we require his technology for our PROTECTION. Fuja promises to be a good healer and spiritual guide; but her mind is lost to age. She even speaks of an ancestral race of Cat People who could not only WALK an Earth three cycles in the past of the one we know; but who were bold enough to protect it... Virgor promises that he has found something as one final opportunity to enjoin our forces with the Aquatitans. I hope that, this time, he is right...
