Speak
She walked through the noisy aisles of the shelter slowly, weaving her way through the Saturday crowd as non-invasively as possible while still trying to peruse all of the dogs on display. Wherever possible, she knelt down to offer pats, smiling and cooing at the eager occupants wagging their tails. Heartbreak leaked through her smile, meeting the eyes of every dog as though to say, I'd take you all with me if I could.

Little Blue
Henry hated the aquarium. The loud noises, the crowds, the fishy-fish smell that filled the muggy air. Strange for a penguin to dislike the smell of fish, but alas there was no helping it. The least they could do was show a modicum of respect.

The Fibonacci Stairs
Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. Converging together, they’d waltz across the heavens, twirling in a celestial ballet that stole the breath of those fated to see it. They danced until the witching hour’s approach, suddenly reaching their climax at the chime of three. Bulging together, the clouds began to spin, a whirling dervish that made even the mystics blush with admirable envy.

The Saturation of Souls
Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. Shades as brilliant and bold as violet and plum mingled with precious pastels of lilac and lavender, spread thin across the heavens like gossamer silk. Veins of eggplant swirled in the shadows, while contrasting splashes of orchid beamed in the luminescent eye of the silvery moon.
