How “Shrek” Is One Big Marxism Metaphor
Today I watched the classic movie “Shrek” and wanted to share some thoughts I had while watching. The movie Shrek is about a right libertarian achieving class consciousness when he tries to be a revolutionary, and Fiona in this film is a class traitor to the bourgeoisie. The length of the film shows Fiona growing disillusionment with the very system that upholds her privilege. At her introduction, Fiona is posh and abides by the same anti-fairytale creatures stereotype as the pleasantry and Lord Farquad. However, her time around Shrek (a politically moderate member of the working class and marginalized fairytale creature) and Donkey (a fairytale revolutionary) helps her to gradually unlearn the propaganda that has been fed to her since birth.

How I Became Content with Jesus
For a while I found myself feeling dissatisfied with where I was at in my life. I had gone many recent months feeling down about something I couldn’t explain. It was an emptiness I had never felt so strongly before. And as one does I tried many ways to fill the void that had crept up on me. I tried many things including trying to surround myself with friends, talk to boys that didn’t have my feelings in mind, at one point I even tried to isolate myself from everyone. I felt as though no one could feed my heart that had starved for something I couldn’t find. So if no person could do it, why be around anyone at all? That was my mindset for a good a chunk of time, and I don’t blame myself for thinking that way. I was hurting more than ever, but what I can say is that mindset didn’t help. If anything, it made the void grow larger.

You Are Just Like the Sunrise
Once I had a friend tell me she had never woken up early solely to watch the sunrise. In all honesty, I was taken back by that. Waking up early with a warm cup of coffee, my cat nuzzled beside me, while breathing in the crisp morning air is one of my favorite little things about life. The sunrise just really is the cherry on top. from my backyard, there is a perfect time where the sunrise lets it glorious golden light beam through the tree leaves. That small gap of time is so magnificent. When I get to take in the sunrise, it always engages me in its beauty. Sunrises have always had a little place in my heart, and they always will. They symbolize birth and rebirth. Sunrises are filled will the joy of a new day we where blessed with.

Change and Why It’s Not So Scary
Change /CHānj/ - Verb - the act or instance of making or becoming different Change is a scary thing. We all know this to be true. It's like the “monster under your bed” we all believed in as a child. It’s hard to forget about it when it’s something you know to be there but you just can see it, but you feel it's underlying presence at all times. You can get so used to one way of life, going ever day with this comforting feeling of a constant routine. This routine feels so safe for countless reasons. It can make you think, “Why would I ever want to give this up” so it’s understandable when you get even one small, daunting thought about changing your set way of life and you get spine chilling feelings. Even if the change would ultimately be for the better.

Set Me Free
“Sometimes what you’re most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free” – Robert Tew I️ find that quote to be quite cliché for obvious reasons, yet it is still one of the most true and intelligent things I️ have ever heard. This quote really connects to my thoughts in making this, and my thoughts on a couple other things.
