Wedding Day Chocolate Cake Prank
I know it’s tradition for the bride and groom to feed each other a bite of cake on their wedding day. I don’t care for chocolate cake. I prefer strawberry or vanilla. But my fiancé said chocolate cake with buttercream icing is his favorite so I conceded. It’s not that big of a deal anyway. I just asked that he give me a small bite when it came time for that part of the celebration. He winked and said, “Anything for you babe.”

Parasomnia
Charlotte's Web was one of my favorite books in grade school. I didn't realize it at the time, but it planted a seed within me to think of animals as friends. Growing up, I loved animals. I felt that they should be free, not caged or chained up.

They Are Here
They're here! My grandfather said he talked to them once, but I didn't believe him. He was quite the storyteller. He said he was a descendant of the great American Indian war chief, Geronimo. He also said he was Elvis Presley's cousin. I laughed off his stories, but they entertained me.

Dreams With Scissors
I didn't feel like I had much control of my life growing up. I'm sure most kids don't. The only plan I had after graduation was talking about going to Tennessee with my best friend. I had vague dreams of wanting to be a famous country music singer. I also talked about joining the Air Force or going to college.

In A Perfect World
I would read and write all day in a perfect world, except when I'm out enjoying nature and living life, so I have something juicy to write about. In a perfect world, my writing would inspire others, help worthy causes, and leave a legacy of passion for the written word.

Chili and Chocolate Cake
When I was in high school, I couldn't wait for chili to be served for lunch because I knew the cooks would also make a delicious chocolate cake for dessert. It was the perfect comfort food and was etched in my memory as my favorite school lunch.
