The Dragon
Clicking on the keys sounded with an echo in the dimly lit shell of a room. A twin bed, with slept in sheets and thin pillow filled one wall. A book shelf and desk filled the other side of the room. The rest was bare, not lived in. This room as a whole, barely lived in, almost deserted. Rain fell down in large droplets outside, banging against the windows in a fury. The glass creates a fog, as his hands glide across the keys as a pianist does a finely tuned piano. He looks up and in a daze walks over to the window wiping away the condensation with a torn bloody sleeve. Walking back he sits at the desk and sighs before typing again.

The Day Is New
The smell of fresh coffee newly brewed woke him from his deep slumber. Rubbing the remainder of sleep from his tired eyes, he stretched and climbed out of his warm bed into the cool September air of his apartment. Car horns honked from the street below through the open windows. Voices and noises filled the quiet space as the day began yet again. This is familiar, this is safe, this is his. Stepping onto the tile flooring of his bathroom he relieved himself quickly since his bladder decided this was the first urgent matter to attend to for the day. Afterwards he proceeded to wash his hands while checking over his appearance in the mirror. Checking for anything new, old, or out of place. Finding nothing he went about brushing his teeth and shaving as he does every morning. Making his way to the kitchen he wondered if the elusive coffee maker would still be here or she hurried out into the day before he awoke. Upon entry into the modernly decorated room he found nothing but a newly poured cup of his favorite flavored coffee and a note. The note read "Until we meet again my dear." and it was signed My Love.

Running From Love
The snow hit the rocks and laid there still as glass and silence. Not a sound to be heard other than the howling winds. Wind which brought the crystallized specs all over the town and water on the edge of the ice covered beach. Water stilled, waves no more until the big thaw comes in the spring. Light pours out from the lighthouse above, rotating and spinning in all directions. Always on the lookout for any and all arrivals to the snow covered dunes.

Crashes of Heartache
The blue waves crashed against the rocks, clapping together as the droplets hit the air. The grey bluish sky overlooked the calming beach. The air crisp with the smell of fresh salt water. His coffee steaming out of the brim of the paper cup. His mind wandering as he stares at the papers sitting upon his lap. Petition for divorce. Here he was an unemployed writing professor who had three successful books at one time, sitting on the beach staring at these papers. Here they sat mocking him. Only married five years and she was already done with him. She was just like everyone else in his life, they didn't just walk away they ran away. He pushed them away, every single one of them. Pushed them to the breaking point and beyond.

Light Pours In
The red mixes with the blue as the yellow embers squeeze into the middle. Clouds roll through light and fluffy like the pancakes children enjoy in the early morning rushes. Shadows shown throughout to show what we are blocking from the sun. This shows us what we need to pay attention to so it is all equal. Light floods through the gaps, showing fires of life and love into the room.

The Storm Brews
The sun rolled behind the clouds in the late afternoon. Darkness enveloped the sky. A storm was brewing. Clouds smashed together as if a dark omen was presenting itself. A new day would be about soon enough. Gone was the sunshine and happiness of a summer's day, and in came the darkness and eeriness of a summer's night.
