My Mother's Brush with McCarthyism
My mother was an extremely intelligent woman. She was the first to go to college, and she didn't just go to any college, she got a free ride to Rice University in Houston. My grandparents were well read, but they were poverty-stricken. She always wanted to become a teacher, and she majored in history at Rice.

Karmic Soulmate
Sometimes I wake up with the strong desire to write something, which is why I called my first book “Dream Stanzas.” I dreamed this, and I have the strong urge to share it because it is obviously meant for someone. I have a feeling I know who it is meant for, and she is not on my facebook page, but she does check out my vocal page frequently. So no one here needs to look in the mirror and wonder, unless it resonates with you. Posted with love.

Floating
I have never told this story publicly, although a few people close to me know it. I have felt the urge to share because I think it speaks a lot to my faith and spirituality. There are many stories and testimonies similar to mine from others. Please note this experience DID NOT trigger my awakening; it is part of it. .

You Wanted to Know
DISCLAIMER: Often when people suffer through abusive childhoods, they end up in abusive marriages and relationships because they did not have good role models and do not know what a healthy relationship looks like. This poem is a bit brutal, but I have wanted to release this energy. It can be a little triggering... As humans, we all have dark thoughts; the key is not acting on them.

Intelligent Faith
The Inherent Intelligence of Faith "Faith is a like a cupcake" Faith is the cornerstone of all belief systems. A faith that there is a Divine being, creator if you will, who has orchestrated and is orchestrating this whole earth and human existence experience. Nonbelievers like to mock and poo poo Faith, throwing up their misguided belief that science is always right! Proof! They say, I want proof. I want double-blind studies that show I AM RIGHT. And they mock people who know and have faith. When in fact, people who have strong feelings of faith truly understand and grasp a higher sense of intelligence in themselves and the intelligence of nature (aka science), the Divine/Creator. People of faith have a much deeper understanding of how things work, and their trust in their faith only exemplifies this trust.
