I'm a copywriter. My first thought was to create a library of cannabis information but I've decided to expand my writing.
I used to write for an agency that specialized in merchandising for influencers. Check it out.

Tip Your Budtenders!
The value of a budtender: I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately about the role of budtenders. Especially the value they hold as in-the-know individuals. They’re the gatekeepers of the good good if you will. At the same time, as an ex-budtender myself and someone who’s actively looking to build a career for myself in the industry, I feel bad for budtenders.

Weed is legal in Canada! Why do people still have pot on their record?
Alright, so here goes: Before I talk to you about legalization, or pardons, or criminal records. I think we should start by talking about The Flowr corp. I started by writing this article about The Flowr Corp and their founder Tom Flow, but it became more of a comment on how the Canadian government has handled legalization.

Why Cannabis bath bombs are the next mild weed experience you will love!
My headline’s a bit deceptive. Cannabis bath bombs aren’t new. They’ve occupied the US market for a while. They’re part of a new trend of non-flower cannabis products to come out since state legalization. We’re even seeing more new products now with Canadian legalization.

Canadian weed companies keep buying each other up and getting bigger! Find out why!
It’s only June and there’s been a number of mergers and acquisitions in the Canadian cannabis landscape. We’ve seen companies combine to become the largest in the world and we’ve also seen companies get bought out for the purpose of provincial market share or branding and expansion opportunities.

How OGEN cannabis keeps you and your standards high with innovative craft cannabis products.
I haven’t written about a craft brand in a while. Shit, there was a while where I didn’t write at all. But hey, bygones, right? Anyway, I’m dying to tell you about an innovative craft brand taking their processes seriously. I picked up something of theirs a while back and I’ve been itching to tell you about it. The company is called OGEN and they’re based in Calgary, Alberta. I’ll tell you; this brand has been a stand out for me.

Millions of dollars worth of pre-rolls were sold in Ontario in 2020.
Think about a pre-roll. Think about a pre-roll. Not from the perspective of a smoker, that’ll come later. Think about a pre-roll from the perspective of a marketer. Who would have thought selling joints could hold so much promise? With a company’s pre-roll offering, many goals can be accomplished. The value proposition for a pre-roll can vary depending on the brand, their goals and what they believe their consumers want.

Do you know the difference between medical and recreational marijuana in Canada?
So here it goes, I have a crazy story to tell you. I know I disappeared for a while. I was working at a distribution centre for a major Canadian licensed producer. I got to work assembling orders for medical patients. It was a great experience; I made some connections and I’m hoping it will eventually get me in permanently with a licensed producer in a marketing role. Maybe somewhere down the line. Who knows, right?

What the fuck are terpenes and why should I care?
Seriously, what the fuck are terpenes? I’m seeing terpenes labelled on cannabis packaging, stated on company websites and talked about at all the dispensaries. If you get your cannsell, you need to know about terpenes. If you’ve read more than one of these articles, you’ve probably notice that every time I talk about a strain, I make sure to list its terpene content.

Do you know if your weed is premium?
Story time: I was a budtender for all of a week in November, then Ontario went back into lockdown again. In that week I got to have all kinds of conversations about weed with the community I was in. Not everyone was an experienced user or a newbie. The best way I can think to describe the people that came in was a full-spectrum of cannabis users (see what I did there?). Even regular-users had questions for me.

Did you know smoking organic weed can actually help the earth?
Natural is balogna, but organic is real. There’s no such thing as a true natural product. If a company claims their product is natural, it’s horse manure. Natural is a marketing trick, there’s not a single way to verify if something is natural. There’s no governing body, no standards or regulations. It’s bologna. From now on, when you see a product advertised as natural, remember “natural is bologna”.

9 Cannabis oils that will make your life better.
I talk too much about smoking joints. I’ve spent entirely too much time writing about flower, joints and vape products. Which is why I felt like I needed to write about Cannabis oil. If you’ve had these questions:

Cheap mass-market weed is taking over… and it's actually not that bad!
There's a weed war going on. There’s currently a war in the national cannabis market. A race to produce the cheapest weed per gram year-round. At 84 cents per gram, Pure Sunfarms is winning. Pure Sunfarms is blowing its competitors Organigram and Aphria out of the water.
