Beneath the Hoodie
Since a young age, I have been a natural born wonder-er who enjoys the thrill of wandering. Wandering and learning, from strangers and friends, to visitors and locals. Learning the most, though, from the environment through the weather cycles unique to each geographical location. Naturally, I am also one who resonates with wide open spaces and a lot of landscape. Recently, however, I have been giving my best attempt at adapting to one of the most populated places I have lived, to date.
Scratch n' Sniff
I stand in the closet with my face pressed into hands which hold a tank top. One that has managed to remain the last standing memento, of a time long passed. For any time I am anxious, or feeling stuck in life, I purge my belongings. In the last couple years I have made two big moves and nine smaller moves between family and AirBnB's. However, I have had this closet in my own apartment going on eight months.
Ready or Not
What if we all were to just share where we’re at through the day? Perhaps we would recognize the similarities and differences in the common flux of emotions that change with the ticking of the clock. Maybe, we would just have a good laugh together at how goofy we all are in our best attempt to navigate the day.
If You Only Knew
My Dear Mother. . . The woman that holds one name but many roles in my life. Through the years, in my overthinking and introspective ways I have seen that these ways are not my own. They are yours, engraved into the notion of me. I observed from birth until now, someone who I believed was the most observant. Thankfully, my belief was wrong on that particular April day; your birthday.
