Fear the Future?
The future, that word sometimes strikes the fear of the unknown within each of us. This fear of the unknown is prevalent in everything in society, we are all afraid for many reasons in our life. Some fear like that of danger is inherent to our most primal of natures and can help us protect ourselves. While other fear we allow to interfere with who we are as a people and as an individual.

Racism at Home
Canada, the true north strong and free. What that means to me is a promise, the promise of liberty. This country has been built on the idea of multiculturalism, people coming together despite their differences to do more and to build a future. Look at what we have built these last 150 years, a country we can be proud of to stand united under the red and white. We are building something beautiful here together not in spite of the differences between us, but because of them. We have learned from each other, bonded and evolved the meaning of what it is to be Canadian. We are a country of many peoples, many faiths and beliefs, differing genders, orientations and colors.

God vs Science
Science, it is the very cornerstone of our modern age and something that is intrinsically tied to our future on this planet. The wonders of the universe are vast and beautiful and leave me in awe with each sight I behold. When I witness the beauty and wonder of the cosmos I feel it not in my mind, or my heart but in my very soul like a long lost memory.

Sexism in the 21st Century.
The wonders of the modern age are numerous; we have been able to land on the moon, cure or treat a whole host of diseases and create pocket computers. Yet we still cling to the stupid belief that women are somehow inferior. They are not and men have only created this impression out of fear.

Multiculturalism
Multiculturalism, a word so many of us know but one so many of us still do not fully understand. To me, it's the promise of liberty, freedom for all men and women united under the flag of our species. Here in the western world, it is called many names, the true north strong and free, the American dream, or really just a better life, a fresh start for weary travelers seeking a fresh start.
