Who am I?
August of 2011. Just a couple of months prior to this point I graduated high school and was getting ready to start my first semester at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, North Carolina. Just a year prior back in the summer of 2010 my mother died in a car wreck and the world had become a different place for me. I started looking for a greater sense of purpose and belonging in the world in a way that I never had before. I always knew what kind of person I was, but I was never sure about who I was meant to be and the journey to making that discovery started here.

November 30, 2013: The day Paul Walker Died
I remember exactly what I was doing on this night 10 years ago. It was Saturday night and I was watching a marathon of the Fast and the Furious movies, specifically the first two entries in the series. Bravo channel had been showing the two films all of Friday and Saturday night. At some point during my binge of the two movies I was also watching something on E! channel. I don’t remember what exactly I was watching, but I do remember turning back to whatever it was when The Fast and the Furious (2001) went on commercial break. As I turned back to E! Channel during the commercial I saw a big red flashing E! News headline underneath the movie I was watching that said: “BREAKING NEWS: PAUL WALKER, DEAD!”

This food is about to be SMACK!!! Ain’t that right, Kendrick?” Kendrick was looking across the street distracted by what met his eyes. “K-dot! What you lookin’ at?” Elijah asked. “Y’all see him over there?” Kendrick asked.
