All my life I've been inspired by others and I strive to be that for you. If I can spark even one person to become their greatest version, I know that one day you will do the same.
The Day That Never Comes
The perfect day will never come for you to chase your destiny. For you to make that life-changing decision. For you to do that thing that moves the needle forward. The perfect time will never come. Let me explain how I know this and why waiting cost me so many precious years of my life.
Nothing Makes Sense
There's a picture of two monks sitting next to each other. They've just finished meditating. After a moment, one monk with a puzzled look on his face says, "Nothing makes sense." The other monk smiles and says, "It does, doesn't it?"
The Flag of Failure
Have you ever told yourself that there were things that were really hard for you? Things you did not know how to do or thought that you couldn't? I once heard a quote that said, "Telling yourself you can't do something is like marching with a flag of failure." Is the person you think you are the person you see in the mirror? What are your thoughts on the one you see looking back at you?
The Energy Checkbook
How are you spending your energy? Each day we are using our energy for multiple tasks. You can spend your energy on things as big or as small as you like. It could be a work day doing various jobs. Or as small as opening a refrigerator door. But whatever you're doing, you're spending energy. I learned this concept from Dr. Bruce Lipton. The man behind the "Biology of Belief". He talked about an energy checkbook and how we spend it every day.
The Great Responsibility
“Do not let the roles you play in life make you forget that you are human.” ~Roy T. Bennett I once heard someone say that being in the form of a human being comes with a responsibility. Think about that for a second. Look at a cricket, a cat, or a dog. Look at any form of animal, insect or creature. A spider, a butterfly, a dragonfly, a bird, a lizard. Any one of these creatures could be our experience. We didn't have to come here as a human being.
Changing or Choosing?
Recently, I went back to my old house in South Carolina and spent some time with my father. I was surprised to see that the room that I spent many teenage years in was just how I left it. Nothing had moved. Nothing had changed. Everything had remained the same.
Don't Down Your Greatness
There are times in life we crave a challenge. Have you found yourself wishing for a more fulfilling existence? Perhaps you have sold yourself short in the past, or just know you can do more today. Whatever the reason, there are times when we seek to turn things up a notch.
Knowledge is Not Lost
Have you ever been afraid of losing your knowledge? That somehow you might not be able to remember certain things? Have you ever thought that you could only learn so much? If so then I have news for you my friend. You don't have to lose what you've learned. You may think that your mind has forgotten, but the soul remembers and the spirit never forgets.
