Mr. Love: Queen's Choice Anime Thoughts
Things I Loved: Lucien is A LOT more likable. Lucien has a lot of fans. Because, well, we're suckers for dreamy, morally gray character with a romantic side. But, I think even his biggest fans will admit there's moments in the game where he's a bit...creepy. Some of this could be owed to Bill Rogers voice acting in the English server: Though he gives Lucien a calm, relaxing voice--there's also a lot of sinister undertones to everything he says. In the anime, I found myself sympathizing for Lucien a lot more than I did in the game. He seems warmer, friendlier, and less suspicious. In the game, even before he was revealed to be working with Black Swan, I always thought something seemed "off" about him. But in the anime, even knowing he's not who he claims to be, I still found myself trusting him. When he does do cold, heartless things, he seems like a cool anime villain while doing it. I know I'm not the first person to make this comparison, but he really is Light Yagami as a scientist. But, unlike Light, part of you does want to like Lucien and see him be redeemed. Also we get to learn more about his backstory, which helped me sympathize more with him and understand why he is the way he is. (Not that that excuses anything, of course.) He's more well-rounded here, I think. And that's pretty impressive because it's usually the opposite for adaptations. So kudos!

Mr. Love Queen's Choice Review
From all outward appearances, it's very easy to swipe past Mr. Love: Queen's Choice in the app store and brush it off as just a fluffy, low-effort dating simulator--not too different from any other. And honestly, I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking that, because that's exactly how it's marketed in the app store.

My Top 20 Favorite Songs Written for Film and Television
"Ecstasy of Gold" from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly No song makes me perform mundane daily tasks with such drama and intensity as this one. Ennio Morricone created a flawless soundtrack for Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy. The opening theme for the third installment of the series is usually the more popular one, often referenced in various spoofs. However, "Ecstasy of Gold" is a beautiful track of epic proportions. Even if you haven't seen the film, one can still vividly imagine gunfights, riding horses into the sunset, and the rich Southwestern US landscape.

6 Reasons Why Drive-In Movies Need to Make A Comeback
Drive-in movies may still exist, but they are nowhere near as booming as they were back in "the good ole' days." But they should be, because there's actually a lot of things you can do at a drive-in movie, that you can't do at a regular movie theater.

7 Ways to Combat Homesickness While Living Abroad
Whether you are going abroad to study, work, or settle down permanently, things are going to be...different from what you are used to. It doesn't matter where you originate from, or how open-minded you may be, there's going to be plenty of times you will be homesick, and there will be plenty of things about the new culture that you think you will never understand. I found all of this out the hard way when I lived in the UK for a semester abroad. I had dreamed of visiting England for years. Don't get me wrong, it was a wonderful experience and I would love to go back someday. But...there were so many things missing from home that I had taken for granted, and missed.

Death Note Review: Anime vs. Live Action (2006)
Death Note was my first anime, and still the one that has me thinking the most long after viewing it. Sure, it may be considered "entry level" to some of the more proficient anime fans, but I think that's one of the things that makes it awesome. Because you don't really need an understanding of anime or anime tropes to "get" it. Plus, it's full of twists, turns, and awesome characters. To me, that's a pretty solid TV show--anime or not.

Album Review: Station to Station by David Bowie
I mentioned in a review I did of Pink Moon by Nick Drake that every musician seems to have an album where they are presented at their most vulnerable--where we see a genuine look at the pains they are going through. Most Bowie fans would pinpoint his 1977 album Low as this album for him. Personally, I would beg to differ. Low is definitely a great album with stellar experimentation and isolation is a huge feeling one gets throughout the record.

Song Review:"Don't Give Up" by Peter Gabriel
If you know me, you know I have absolutely nothing but respect and admiration for Peter Gabriel. Not only is he a talented musician and songwriter, but he is one of the nicest guys alive, super humble, an all around class act. He's all the positive traits one could love in a person accumulated all into one body and one mind.

Actors ARE NOT their characters!
I love Star Wars. But in some ways I'm afraid to say that because of the reputation the fandom has of being overly toxic and critical. They bullied Kelly Marie Tran off of social media when they didn't like her character in The Last Jedi. They bullied Rian Johnson for creating The Last Jedi. They bullied Hayden Christensen out of acting because his portrayal of a teen/young adult male was too awkward (Imagine that!) They even bullied a literal child into a life of anxiety and depression because they didn't like that he portrayed future Darth Vader as, get this, a CHILD. I gotta say, it seems nobody hates of Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.

Album Review: Pink Moon by Nick Drake
With the recent occurrence of the pink supermoon that happens every spring, I was reminded of one of my favorite albums of all time. That album is Pink Moon by Nick Drake. It's a short album, clocking in at just under thirty minutes, and if you listen to it, you will notice there are no instrumental overdubs, save for a short piano melody on the title track.

Reviews of My First Five Animes
(Disclaimer: These are all just my opinions. You are allowed to agree or disagree as you please, but keep it civil.) I'm Jenny, I'm 26-years-old, and I am just now getting into anime. I didn't grow up with anime the way some other people my age did. Sure, I watched a few episodes of Pokemon, but that was about the extent that my anime enjoyment went. In middle school and high school, I purposely went out of my way to watch anime because that's what all the other kids were watching, and I thought hating on it would make me cool and unique. (You know how teenagers are.)
