I have spent a life in uniform, adventuring through this muddled-up world as time passed. I've lived, loved, fallen on my face only to try again. Now, as I get older, my only regret was not writing it down. It's time to start.
Will There Be A Reboot?
In the age of reboots and rehashing old television and movies there's one that I've been waiting for since my senior year in high school. While Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas may be past their primes and having Crockett and Tubbs on the streets of Miami running and gunning might be a hard sell, there's unfinished business with that series that has gone unanswered for too long. So, in my imagination, it would have to be a passing of the torch series. It has been done before. Hopefully, the online rumors of a project in the works might mean that they are going to do it again.
Thunder Force A Hit, Or Miss?
Thunder Force It's Friday and I'm stuck at home today. Like most of us this last year, I've become dependant on Netflix and the other streaming services to keep me from going nuts around the house. Truth be told, a week ago I was on the verge of kissing Netflix goodbye. A couple of announcements later and this gem of a comedy and I'm glad I didn't.
Remember These Tips Before Calling In To Work To Play Hookie
Even the best of the type-A personalities can have a bad run. You know the type. They've never missed a day, always the earliest to arrive, and are haled by the bosses as their most productive employees. They're the know it, seen it, and done it all men and women that everybody loves. I once had a boss that told me in his office, as he complained about having to deal with someone that got caught ditching work if you're going to do it "stay out of places people might see you, and stay off Facebook." It was good advice to say the least, even if it wasn't the most professional view for my boss to share with me. Later on down the line, he left over a failed drug test, but that's a different story.
Our Swan Song
I'm not much of a poet but this is something that is based on my life, and one hundred percent true. It's all about the one I should have gone with, my real-life door number two.
What Happened To Us Standing Together?
We aren't seeing "Frank" discussions about what happened to our country, and I don't think we ever will. Because these are just political talking points, when our leaders say, "we need to be having these discussions." They're statements meant to inflame and outrage, every time something unjust or unfair happens. Saying we need to have these discussions about our culture and our country don't solve problems. The only way to solve problems is, and you probably guessed it, to do the work. However, if there is one thing that we should have learned over the past couple of years, it's that the people who claimed to be our leaders, flooded our televisions screens, radio broadcasts, news feeds, and magazine covers, don't want to do the work. Sure, they'll say nice little phrases. Let's give Nancy Pelosi credit where it is due. She's good for positive sound bites from time to time. But where, Nancy, and the rest of you, is this people's work?
Rain poured, pounding against the side of the building, tinging off the windows of his apartment as Tyler sat up in bed. Soft white light, peeking through the breaks in his blinds, shined across the room, hitting Kara's alabaster skin as she lay next to him. This was the first time they hooked up and Kara did not leave fairly soon after. Tyler couldn't help but stare. Out of uniform, Kara Carlson was incredibly attractive, every mans' fantasy. She definitely did not fit the picture of a police captain.
If You Liked Avatar Try Watching Terra Nova
Most of the time when someone loves one thing or another the reasons for one exist in another. For anyone the loved Avatar and the vibrant, exciting, and magical world of Pandora, I'd recommend trying the one season of Terra Nova to fill your binge-watching needs.
To start with, I'd like to point out that this story is true. Truly embarrassing. Nothing happened but it's one of those stories that even though it was nearly 35 years ago, I still haven't forgotten.
