How I Met You
This is the story of how and when I met you. A bit of backstory first and foremost, I wasn’t supposed to have met you. The one thing you weren't supposed to do was sweep me off my feet and all that jazz but what did you do? Just that.

Please read parts 1, 2, & 3 before continuing: November 19: Gamer's Rhapsody. I had been waiting for this for almost a year. I knew Vincent and a lot of his friends would be there. I would be able to spend some time with him while they were around, and compare it to when he and I were alone.

This is the story of how I tried to make amends and how that went horribly wrong. First, a bit of backstory. I dated this guy (let's call him Ron) in my junior and senior year of high school (we were on and off twice and friends through the rest). We started dating in May of my junior year and I had another interest at the time as well, but I stayed faithful to Ron when we were together to not break his trust and ruin the relationship. After a couple months, being the teenage girl I was, I decided to follow my heart, end things with Ron, and try for a relationship with my other interest, Vincent. Check out "A Modern Love Story" if you want that whole story... I asked Ron if I could call him and he kept avoiding the question, probably knowing the outcome if he said yes. Knowing I would lose my nerve if I didn't end it that day, I texted it to him. I felt awful and I'd never broken up over text, but when I called him he sent it to voicemail. Ron was, of course, heartbroken, but I didn't want to have these feelings for Vincent and simply push them onto Ron, that just wouldn't be fair to him.

Please read part one and two before continuing. September 8, 2016 I just got six messages from him. I was afraid to open them but eventually, I got the nerve. They read as follows:

My name is Jane. This is the story of my anxious boyfriend. Let's call him Kurt. Kurt seemed like my dream guy. We had a very swift start to our relationship and I thought I would marry him one day. We met on an app called Whisper and we hit it off right away. Our relationship began right after my senior year of high school in the summer of 2017. We had similar likes and dislikes including Disney, technology and ideas for the future we had planned to spend together. Everything changed when I started college. I moved 400 miles away from where he lived and we went through our day to day texting, calling, and keeping each other informed. VERY informed. When I didn't tell him certain details or forgot to mention them to him, he would get peeved and ask me, "Well, why didn't you tell me before?" I almost always had no answer to that question. I had either forgotten to tell him or knew that if I did tell him certain details, he would become even more angry with me.

It was 11:34 PM. I was in my bed and almost asleep. I had told my boyfriend good night when she texted. "Hey! I was just thinking about you :) How are you doing?"

It was a few days before Christmas. The season of giving, as we all call it. My mother and I were driving to have lunch at a local bagel shop that we quite enjoy. It was a Sunday, coldest day of the year so far. It was -20 degrees F before wind chill.
