Why Titan A.E. is Still Awesome, 21 years on
So The Guardian has a surprisingly entertaining regular feature called Hear Me Out, where a writer attempts to defend a movie most people think is trash. They've done Confessions of a Shopaholic, Equilibrium, Deep Rising…and this week, they turned their gaze on a movie that is pretty near and dear to my heart. I'm talking, of course, about Titan A.E.

The Top 5 Ridiculous Things People Ask About Writing
Every time I mention that I’m a published author (which I try to do as little as possible, because it makes me feel like I’m covered in an icky film of self-promotion), people get this look on their face. The Time We Blew Up a Car
So I’m going to tell you about the time I blew up a car. This is a hundred percent true, by the way. I’m on vacation, hanging out with my family, and my girlfriend. Italy. Tuscany, to be precise. When you’re driving along a narrow road on a woody Italian hillside in the late afternoon, with the sun just starting to go down behind the mountains and the promise of salami and stupidly large amounts of parmesan and truffles back at the villa, you can’t help but feel satisfied with life. Of course, that’s a dangerous state of mind to be in, because something, inevitably, catches fire.

Swearing is Awesome
I am something of a potty mouth. I know. The dude who writes books with the word ‘shit’ in the titles enjoys swearing. Shocking. Although having said that, if you read the reviews of my books, you will still find people who are concerned and alarmed that my books contain swear words. I adore these reviews. You have to be a particular kind of special for your thoughts to arrange themselves this way.
