Caught In the Act
The English Department Christmas bash was in full party mode — hushed conversation, stuffy professors, pompous grad students, self-conscious undergrads, a forelorn tree and and soft, aimless jazz oozing from hidden speakers. Across the room Jessica glowed bright as Rudolph's nose: tight sweater, short skirt and a bow around her neck, all hot red, said bow formerly decorating a wreath in the window. How nice to see someone acting festive. Jessica had taken two of my classes. I think she also had a crush on me.
