Trapped
He crouched down to fill his water skin on the bank of the river when a woman appeared out of thin air, seeming to hang there suspended for a few breaths, before falling several feet into the river with a splash. He watched in stunned bemusement as the woman thrashed about, the fast-moving current carrying her in his direction. His confusion turned to fear for the woman when she collided with the large boulder at the river’s bend. Then she disappeared beneath the turbulent waters.

Color Me REAL
I was born with, what most would consider, beautiful golden blonde hair. It was a platinum blonde when I was small and when I got a bit older, it retained platinum highlights but also developed golden lowlights that gave it depth. By the time I was fourteen, and a Sophomore in high school, I was a taller than average, well-endowed teenage girl with this beautiful blonde hair. These three traits that I possessed made me the butt of many hurtful jokes because I was more than my looks and was nothing like what the jokes implied. I was the youngest person in my grade (having skipped a grade), a member of my high school’s J.R.O.T.C. program, an honor student, and STILL I was the butt of many jokes.

Reflection
Nestled on the sofa, under a heavy-weighted flannel blanket, Celia relaxed with her favorite novel as Trixie and Johnathan slept upstairs and she waited for Dan to arrive. The smell of cedarwood pervaded the cabin as fire danced merrily in the hearth. The earthy aroma of the fire nearly overpowered the scent of apples and cinnamon that came from the steaming mug of apple cider that rested next to her on the antique side table.

Stress
So, let me start by saying that SOME suspense can add a bit of flavor to one's life. For instance, watching a movie that has some suspense in it can get your heart pumping fast or watching a race to see who will win when the top competitors are neck and neck, or attending Halloween attractions like haunted houses or the events put on by major theme park, or even waiting to see if you will win a contest...
