They Say It Takes a Village
All my life I have heard the quote, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Going back, and looking in my past, I grew up without support. I had a biological father, but he did not care for me the way a father should have. I had a stepmother, but she was no mother, not even step. The only time I had any support was the 10 years my brother was alive, before his murder at the age of 13. He was the one truly caring for me, but then, in his last months, I was caring for him as best I could. I was just a ten-year-old and not a doctor, soup was the only thing I knew how to help.

The Beginning
As you know I wrote a three-part story, The Beginning Part 1, 2 and 3. As mentioned in many of my other stories, I do not hide the fact that I myself am in therapy, as well as on the hunt for answers about myself, my heritage and my history and life. That being said, some of the information was jumbled, and mixed in my three-part story. I also had puzzle pieces missing, a lot of puzzle pieces missing.

Mia and Goofie
I know the challenge is about talking one particular dog in the present, but in this case, I cannot do that. The only dog we have now is our daughter's dog, Ugga, who is a rescue, and she is skittish around adults. The stories of her are not my stories to tell, they are our daughters. While she is a wonderful canine and has warmed up to us, to a point, her stories and memories created are mostly the ones she has made with our daughter. However, I will skip the sad, it's too painful to talk about, we are still not over the loss of our companions yet, even though it has been years, I will stick to the happy, funny and odd.

No Longer Silent
Throughout life, society has taught us that silence speaks more than our voice. Something I was taught at a very young age, be silent, or someone gets hurt. However, in my experience, the more I stayed silent, the more hurt it always caused.

The Owl with the Heart of a Wolf
Many springs ago when I was just a hatchling, I knew I was different. While others learned to hunt from above, I felt the need to hunt from below. I was the oddball of the bunch. I was the last to learn to spread my wings and fly, and to this day, even though it is customary to sleep in a barn or tree, I prefer a den.

Dimensions
When we think of dimensions, we think of other worlds in fantasy novels or movies. We don't think of the parts of our brains that hold memories, past, present and what will pertain to the future. We do not realize that our brain is more mysterious than meets the eye.

Compassion of a Two Year Old
In this ever growing world we do not see a lot of compassion towards one another. When we do, it is rare and a shame we do not see it often. It takes parents, and grandparents, even aunts and uncles to help young children learn to value another. At some point we all lose sight of it.
