NEON KNIGHTS
A steel gauntlet reflects the light from a blue led fixture of New Orleans’ “Madame Laveau Knight Bunker”. Blade Knight Alexander walks into the armory, his steel fiber chest plate stained with blood and scorched from fire. He removes his helmet, flipping his sweat riddled black hair back, and stares into his open locker. A picture of his family taped to the door, reminding him of why he became a Blade Knight. He removes the rest of his steel fibered armor, leaving a “Chain-link” with green lights coursing around it. The Chain-link is a black polyethylene fiber and titanium fusion suit, meant for taking blows from both bullets and blades. The Neon green light pulsating around it detects affected areas of the suit and changes color depending on the severity of the damage, alerting the wearer to seek out either medical attention or the Chain-smith.

FALLEN SISTER
Clouds block the sun on a Tuesday afternoon. October's autumn breeze softly kisses Rose's mocha cheeks and runs through her dirty blonde hair. Dressed in black, she sniffles to stop her slight runny nose and wipes the tears from her face. The world around her is empty and silent as she slowly rocks herself on a swing in the center of the playground. Images of her older sister flash in her mind while deeply mourning her sister's passing.
