Random Thoughts on Norm Macdonald and Jim Breuer (But Mostly Norm Macdonald)
I am writing this on September 14th, 2021. Earlier today, it was announced that Norm Macdonald, Saturday Night Live alum and stand-up comedian par excellence, has passed away at the age of 61. This news has devastated the comedy world, with many of Macdonald’s fans and fellow comedians taking to social media to pay tribute to one the industry’s most influential artisans. But I think there’s one person who may have been hit particularly hard by this tragedy: Macdonald’s fellow SNL alum Jim Breuer.

Ralph's Shoe Store
My name is Gordon Bradshaw. I’ve lived in this city for fifteen years; I’m a professor at the university here. But it was only recently that I made quite the startling discovery about this quaint little town. When I found out, I was absolutely beside myself. I had no idea such a thing was going on in this seemingly innocent little town! Well...innocent apart from all the muggings. But still, I was shocked to discover that such a thing had been going on all this time, and I had not been any the wiser.

A Feminist Examination of "Twilight"...By a ManTop Story - September 2021
The reputation of the 2008 cinematic adaptation of Stephenie Meyers’s Twilight precedes it, for worse and for better. Sometime in middle school, I attempted to read the original novel. Popular as it was, I found it dull and couldn’t bring myself to finish it. As such, when I was assigned to watch the movie for a college class, my expectations going in were rather low. Much to my surprise, I found myself actually liking the film somewhat. Director Catherine Hardwicke paints very beautiful cinematic pictures, and I found quite a few of the characters rather endearing—specifically, Bella and Jacob’s respective dads, Bella and Edward’s respective moms, Edward’s adoptive sister Alice, and Bella’s friend group at Forks High. And, for all the crap she has been given, I thought Kristen Stewart did well as Bella. All that said, Twilight still has its issues. Viewed through a feminist lens, though it is by no means a masterpiece, it is not completely without merit either.

My Dream Journal: July 22, 2018
There are quite a few people out there who keep dream journals to record and potentially even interpret their dreams. I am not one of those people. I don't begrudge those who do their right to do so; I just usually tend to forget the details of my dreams fairly quickly. Like, almost immediately after wake up. But in July of 2018, I had such an odd, vivid dream that it stuck in my head for a fair bit, and I felt it compelled to record it while I could still remember it. I'm not sure why. Posterity? Fun and prizes?
