Unethical Tax Breaks and a Broken Economic System
Perfection only exists in theory, but that doesn’t mean we can’t strive for better. Most Americans, especially young people, believe our economic system is broken—and that the brokenness transcends political parties. While it might be for different reasons, members of both the right and the left take issue with the massive corporations that dominate our lives. Of course, to achieve anything productive, you would have to convince them to stop hating each other long enough to talk about it. I could easily spend hours about the realigning of Democrat’s and Republican’s bases and the fact that most politicians have no clue it is happening. But that is not my intent with this article. My intent is to make a point about the America economic system, specifically tax breaks.

My Journey through Nostalgia
Burning Crusade Classic launches today as I’m writing this. Will I take my new Blood Elf Paladin to Outland? Probably not. Between my wife, daughter, and job, my video game time has shrunk drastically and is split widely. But I’m loving the remastering of video games! Maybe I’m alone in this, but as a kid I felt like I missed out on a lot of the defining moments of modern video game culture. While those moments may be gone its nice to be able to fire up my modern console or laptop and play something from 20 years ago. Also, now that I’m an adult, I enjoy completing games I once played and coming to a better understanding of the storylines. I find it fascinating that unlike books or movies, video games give us a chance to interact as much or as little with the story as we like.

Without Remorse: A Review
It is easy to sit on the sidelines and criticize those who are out there hustling, creating, or playing. We all know that un-athletic fan who swears they could throw a better pass than Tom Brady or keep their cool better than Lebron James. Screenwriting and producing TV shows and movies may not be the same, but it’s still horribly easy to criticize without offering anything of value. So, in this decidedly negative review of Without Remorse, I will try to add value.

A Chance to Give
The sun beaming through the windows bathed Layne’s tiny office in warmth. It was one of the many perks of working for a small firm; his office was likely a repurposed janitorial closet, but at a larger firm he would’ve been in some open space concept making sales calls with fifty others. Layne frowned at that thought. He shouldn’t be making sales calls at all. The firm had originally hired him as a supply chain analyst, but had eliminated several positions, including his, about five months ago. Layne was intimidated by the sales job, but he figured he’d rather learn than spend his savings paying the rent. He’d quickly discovered he had a knack for sales, which made him proud. It was 4 in the afternoon on Thursday—his weekend was about to start. He had tomorrow off as a bonus for high sales last quarter. He started tidying up documents on his desk and checking emails to make sure no issues had cropped up.
