There weren't always dragons in the valley. Once, it was occupied by humans. Weak, violent creatures set on the destruction of all magical beings. We all teamed up and overthrew the conquerors. Now, the valley and the mountains are overflowing with dragons.

I Hated You
Mother Mom, I never knew you. I never got the chance. I hid it from dad but for the longest time I hated you. I hated you so much. You brought me into this world and then you left, just like that. Did I mean nothing to you? Did my existence cause you that much pain? Was I that horrible?

Ma Serannas
How did they find us? Were we being too careless? Did we leave a trail behind us? I was not sure, but I believed that we did not leave a trail behind us. We are not stupid enough to do something like that. But that did not change the fact that we were surrounded by darkspawn. Shrieks, to be precise. I drew my daggers and charged at the shriek closest to me, rapidly taking it out. The other darkspawn were dropping like flies against my companions, but one standing at the edge of camp caught my attention. With my weapons still drawn, I edged my way towards this shriek. As I drew closer, its posture and face grew increasingly familiar, until I finally realised who it was.

Year 3122
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. I’m not even sure dragons ever existed in the past. Not the dragons spoken about it old books anyway. Animal-like dragons would be preferable to what roams the valley now. Humanity grew quickly and damaged the Earth. Most humans escaped to other planets, like terraformed Mars, but others remained behind. Earth was our home, we just needed to make it habitable again.

Only You
I felt like my heart was being ripped out. We sat in the principal’s office, both tense as the principal stared down at us. No words had been spoken, but I knew what this was about. We’d been discovered. I felt Alex shift beside me, her leg bouncing up and down as she tried to calm her anxiety.
