Dear Mom, I’ve been thinking about you lately. I’m not going lie; but, life has been hard with out you. You left our lives so young at the age of 35. It's been already twelve years without you. I am now 28 almost 29 and everyday is a lesson. You taught me about courage and resilience, love and compassion amongst other qualities to obtain. Thanks to you my growth in my own life foundation started and till this day I find I still need to heal and fix the cracks. Not because you didn’t teach me the right way but because I still need to learn how to act, be better and continue to grow.

She has the ability to come out of each difficulty more powerful! What makes it tough for Mia to continue sometimes, is not having her best friend; her mother. Her mother had always been her emotional security. After her mother's passing, it took Mia a year or so to learn how to talk to anyone about her feelings again. She mostly kept to herself; hiding her feelings in her writing and drawings.

No one had thought I would wake up before the time stipulated on my Power of Attorney. The machines had kept me alive, but I had not shown signs of waking up until I abruptly did that morning. Someone said something behind me, but I couldn’t make out who it was or what was being said. Before I could say another word, everything went dark!
