A New Jersey transplant, Ellie Lieberman lives now in sunny Southern California. She works with the fairies on her handmade business, Acorn Tops, when not writing or illustrating.
Lullaby of a Future Writer
Growing up, I’d fall asleep to the sounds of my mother’s fingers dancing across the computer keys, a lullaby for a future writer. My final thoughts were full of wonder, excitedly anticipating what she was writing, the next part of the story she shared with me just minutes before. I became a writer at my mother’s keyboard. I learned the magic of storytelling, of transforming a blank page into a whole world.
Living with Anxiety
I have anxiety, so feeling like I don’t fit in is an everyday occurrence. I don’t tend to write about stuff like this. It’s not just that I don’t like to; it’s that I can’t. It’s almost physically impossible, much to the chagrin of my many therapists.
Tapestry of Connections
Crafting, making, creating is in my blood. From my earliest memories, my family was always making something. Perhaps, then, it’s no surprise that I am a handmade entrepreneur, using the very tools and skills handed down to me. And, even less surprising, any type of making is my happy place.
