The Caged Raven
Out of all birds, ravens are the smartest. They've always been one of my favorite animals, ever since I was a child. Their wings, once expanded, are a true sight to behold. They are the most majestic creatures in my opinion. Of all animals, this is one to be reckoned with.

Disappointment
Disappointing people has always been my forte. First, I disappointed my father by being gay. Then I disappointed my mother by not being her. Then my grandfather, by trying to start something for myself. Then my friends for being "self-centered/narcissistic." Finally, I disappoint myself by not being able to successfully commit suicide. Three attempts, all failed.

Belief
Belief means something different to everyone. We all need someone or something to believe in, that keeps us fighting—waking up each day with a purpose. Most importantly, we need to be believed in. When people don't believe in our abilities, we tend to shut down. We isolate ourselves, lose hope, possibly even ourselves and abilities.

Expression
Expression means something different to everyone: Some dance, some sing, some write, and some draw. I do all of these things. I find it soothing; therapeutic. Lately, I have been feeling unable to express myself properly which has caused me to be somewhat apathetic. I can feel the joy fading from me as the light dies from my eyes.

Brittle
We go through life alone, whether we like it or not. Friends, family, relationships, none of it is real because no one truly knows one another. We all have various versions of ourselves that we display to society, friends, and family. When our versions become compromised, we are forced to retreat into ourselves—shifting and shaping into someone who, we ourselves, might not even recognize.

Chemistry Pt. III
I awake in a cold sweat with no recollection of the night prior. I feel my neck and it's covered in blood. Nate usually isn't that aggressive with biting, and he certainly wouldn't have turned me. I don't think anyway. I just couldn't imagine being a vampire—not because I think I'd be bad at it, but because of the bloodlust. I can sense that I'd have a hard time controlling myself.
