Start The Morning With The Sunrise
Mexico is a beautiful place to visit. Where we are staying the weather is warm, the ocean is close, and the people are so friendly. I am so glad that I can work from home in Mexico. My boss went to bat for me to be the first to work away from the office in Minnesota. Others tried I was told and failed to establish the ability to work from other parts of the country and world during this period of work from home. I thought I would ask as my fiancé had plans to leave Minnesota before Christmas for Mexico. Because her daughter is expecting a baby, Stephanie's plans to be away from Minnesota were extended also. Her daughter had no idea how long they will be living in Mexico, as her husband was deported.
Did Curiosity Really Kill The Cat
The young man above is curious and you can tell that he is a curious fellow in the picture above. The woman next to him is curious also, but you can't really tell if she is watching what he is watching. She is though as she almost always knows exactly what is going on around her. I found out that a term for this is hypervigilance. And you can bet her mother may have it too. And my guess is he comes by his curiosity naturally as he probably comes from a long line of curious men and women.
The Start Of His Bucket List
He watched a movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman back in 2007, called The Bucket List. He enjoyed it but wasn't really into the idea of going off and completing a list of things that he wanted to do before he died. Maybe it was his age and he was not feeling it. Because he did enjoy the movie as Jack Nicholson has been one of his all time favorites in movies and always seems to come through, no matter the movie. He decided it was a good movie and one apparently he hadn't forgotten!
My Watch Is Broken
I was with a small group of reiki practitioners at the hospital in town, sending reiki to all of the people in the hospital. I was told the hospital was full of patients and the staff were overwhelmed and needed help. It was such a great idea and I just had to go. I could imagine how powerful that could be, knowing how just a small reiki circle can do so much for just a few.
Travel During The Pandemic
I was in San Francisco recently. It was a fun trip. While we were there, we went to many food places that were excellent. We went to the Muir Woods, and we travelled over the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. I was with my daughter and her two teen boys. She calls them her middles as she has olders, middles and littles. The middles are almost six feet tall and eat every two hours or so. They were always hungry. I would say, didn’t we just eat and one of them would say, that was a long time ago and I am starving!
The Real Me On Turtle Island
I was putting together a mobile to use at a talk I was presenting at. My grandson helped me make it. There were 4 people on the mobile. I wanted to demonstrate how we are all effected by each other in a family, community or the country, no matter if it is addiction, or happy occasions. And how we will be effected throughout our life, even if we do not realize it. He wanted to make the mobile with a turtle. When I said that was a great idea as in our creation stories, we are told this country is on the back of a turtle. He liked the story and was even more excited about helping me.
I was lucky enough to grow up in Minnesota! I love the beauty most of all. Waking up to the frost on the trees. The white snow covering the tree branches and the ground. I can hardly wait to see my breath when going outside. Knowing that I will be sharing this fun of winter with my grandchildren. They are happy to be able to go outdoors to play.
Life In Recovery
Stephanie was in outpatient treatment and feeling darn good about herself and how she was doing. She thought, I should have gone to treatment right away, rather than trying to do it all on my own. Oh well, as they say, live in today and live one day at a time. She was on her way to have some work done on her car. She had driven it down to Mexico, just a few short months ago now. She thought she should have an oil change and have just a minor checkup as it didn’t seem to be running quite right. When she went into the shop, she thought, what a mess. These guys could use some help to clean this place up a bit. As she was sitting waiting for her car to get looked over, she thought of her relationship and how that was going well. She felt so lucky to be in a relationship with a man in recovery. A man with a kick ass recovery program. He reads the grapevine every month, he reads two daily meditation books, one in the morning and one at night. He sponsors guys and is in service by being a group service representative or a GSR. Then he is always providing a role in the district.
