Bordeaux: A 6-Hour Drive from Paris and What We Experienced
Arriving in Bordeaux Bordeaux is a bustling city in the southwest of France. It is home to many vineyards and chateaus where the worldwide known Bordeaux wines come from. Bordeaux is quite popular among tourists. I was not expecting so many, especially during the slow season in late October. It is a beautiful city with its Gothic and Romanesque styles of architecture, many of which are recognized as UNESCO Heritage Site.

I Inherited an 80-Year-Old Chenille Vintage Bedspread from my Grandmother in the Spirit World
A Priceless Gift I inherited my grandmother’s 80+-year-old vintage Chenille bedspread and am ecstatic about it! It is white with patterns of flowers in pink and yellow raised yarn. The bedspread is in pristine condition. I once read somewhere on the internet that Chenille dates back to the 18th century and originated in France. But do not take my word for it because I can not recall the source.

Comments on Daily Struggles of an 81-Year-Old and His Daughter Articles Ripped Me to Pieces
I wrote a few articles regarding my interaction with my 81-year-old father. While in some writing platforms it went rather well, in another it did not. Some comments were horrific. They shredded me to pieces. The commenters bombarded me with accusations of being an inconsiderate, ungrateful, and spiteful daughter who does not appreciate her father. I ignored the comments since no one knows what goes on behind my closed doors, but I ended up deleting the articles to avoid any further commenting. I am a peaceful person and do not want any negativity to affect me or my writing.

My Stomach Was in My Chest Cavity and it Almost Killed Me
I Was Away But Not Because I Wanted To I’ve been away from writing for about a month now. No writing, no reading, no interaction with anyone. Not that I have nothing to write about, on the contrary. I have so much to write about! First, my husband and I took a two-week vacation traveling through five countries in Europe. See, that alone is plenty to write about. It was amazing and the best trip we’ve done so far. But once we arrived home, illness struck me. It was not COVID or any disease I brought from abroad. It was something else building up as time went by.

Daily Struggles of an 81-Year-Old and His Daughter — Part 2
That Saga Continues For those that are not familiar, and as a refresher, my 81-year-old father moved in with us on his own. I started to journal our daily struggles of living with an old, stubborn, narrow-minded, negative man to cope with the stress. Journaling our mishaps, conversations, and disagreements has helped me be more tolerant and patient. Besides, he is my Dad and I love him. Therefore, here’s part 2.

One of the Biggest Mistakes Made by Small Business Owners and the Solution
Small Business Mistake that Cost You $ As a self-employed accountant, I realized how many small business owners have no clue what they are doing. I am an accountant who ventured out into the world as an independent contractor about five years ago. Most of my clients are through word of mouth. Other than filing their taxes, I do their bookkeeping and some have astounded me. How has their business survived without a proper accounting method in place?

Daily Struggles of an 81-Year-Old and His Daughter — Part I
My Unexpected Visitor After 37 years living more than 500 miles away, my father is now living with my husband and me. He invited himself to live with us without asking if I had the space, if my husband had any objections, or if I had any plans. He just bought a one-way ticket and asked me to pick him up at the airport. I was stunned and confused at first. But thought, “that’s okay because he is 81 years old.

Stranded Before Taking Off — The Ordeal of Reaching British Airways to Solve the Issues for Flight Cancelations
To Fly or Not to Fly Is it a good time to travel? Probably not. As usual, we scheduled our yearly vacation to Europe months in advance. We book our flights, car hire, and hotel through British Airways Holiday. Since we began using them, we’ve had a wonderful experience, so there was no question about re-booking with British Airways (BA). Also, to our advantage, we always buy travel insurance. We learned the hard way it is better to spend a couple of hundred dollars more on insurance than not have any at all.

Our Dog Understands Everything We Say and Here Is How I Know
A Little about Chewy We have a dog. He is a mix between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund, a Chiweenie they call them. His name is Chewy, and he is 9 years old. He was the runt of the pack and has been with us since he was 5-weeks old. For us, he is family, and we treat him like so. Chewy is a smart little guy, and he understands what we talk about. It happened on more than one occasion and here is my proof.

Think Outside the Usual Burger Box with Adler's
Adler’s is Amazing! With hamburgers, we are picky. We no longer eat McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy’s hamburgers. They do not satisfy our cravings. There are plenty of places that serve hamburgers besides their specialties. But sometimes you just crave a specialty hamburger and not just the plain old BLT or Cheeseburgers sold in every other place. So, where did we eat hamburgers at?
