Shadows of ships
Rebecca sat beside the sheltering rocks in the warmth of the late summer sun, looking out across the bay to the wide, deep blue seas. A northerly breeze brought with it the prospect of autumn. It’s chill edge sharp against the skin, and the thought of him.

Bye Bye Blackbird
Claudine unlocked the door to her apartment. She paused before entering, letting go of a familiar thought. Inside she put the small spray of flowers on the table beside her two coats and kicked off her shoes. She took the scarf she had worn, beautiful in tawny-orange, to her bedroom where she placed it back on its shelf beside the long mirror. She removed the sunglasses from her head and placed them on the shelf above the scarf. Each neat and in its place, such is the need in a small apartment.

Stop. Step sideways ...
Stop. Break the pattern of where you are. Step sideways, sideways out of one state and into another. Another that is calmer, more coherent, more remote from the first. One that warms, allows tensions to ease and subside. One that draws you out of malaise or tension. One that brings a smile.

Trust in me, trust in me
I don’t watch tv, I haven’t for years, so it’s been intriguing to consider what I might recommend to you in terms of what to watch. Rather than tv I turned to films, replaying movies in my mind in search of ones that I’d enjoyed over the last five to ten years. Nothing really hit home, nothing that led to another film to recommend. At least not until I got to one of my favourite films, 2009’s The International with Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. Taking that as my start point I looked backwards for other films about trust, cover-ups and corruption. The doors opened to a rich vein of films going back to the 1960s. I kept out of going even further back as I had found enough recommendations by then.

This is my arm.
It was some years ago, at about 7.30 in the morning, that I witnessed a beautiful occurrence, beautiful to me at least. I was with a client in a park in Oxford – Bury Knowle Park. It was the first of a bout of sessions with the client to help them with rehabilitation of a spinal issue and of their right shoulder.

Memento of life
For the first time in ages I feel free. Five months ago I made a break from the corporate world to travel – to travel light, for as long as I can, depending on how funds last. I had an intention of six months in Europe, six in the Americas and six in Australasia. Europe first – exploring whilst getting familiar with travelling. It is so different from taking a holiday.
