A Grunt that’s been stuck in traffic for the past 15+ years, it seems; from DC to SEA & Iraq, to back in The District. I love my Little Monsters more than life itself. Born Day: 4/20.
P.S.- My Drumpf posts were prev. posted w/ diff. pics.
Why my daughters are destined for holy hell when they start dating!
The subtitle of this piece was taxed from the bridge of the eighth track, "Sergio", on Action Bronson's Sept. 25, 2020 album, "Only For Dolphins". Nuff props due.
The title of this 31st piece by me is taxed from Ari Lennox's song on her 2016 classic, PHO. Getting straight to the chase yet again:
"If we want peace, somebody has to do the fighting..."
Another list of random memories from my time as a GI. And commencement: 1.) I once saw a lieutenant (LT) completely stun one of his fellow officers during combatives (hand to hand) training with a series of palm strikes that were supposed to be open hand slaps. Miscommunication.
"Can't match wit, with warriors..."
Given my recent affinity for lists and the collection of fading memories from my time in the military, I figured what's one more foray into the fray.
"Mario Andretti on the MOMO"
This piece is essentially the third in an installment of open letters to my future and current children. Seeing as I've grown quite partial to lists, and I have a bit of experience behind the wheel, more or less, I figured why not attempt to share some of it with the world and whatnot.
NUMB3RS Vol. 3
Getting right to it: 37.) The Ithaca 37, aka the Model 37, looks extremely familiar as far as military shotguns go. I don't know much about it besides it being ambidextrous and based on an early 20th century patent by Browning, according to Wikipedia.
NUMB3RS Vol. 2
Picking right up where I left off: 21.) I turned 21 on a base in Iraq called FOB (Forward Operating Base) Warhorse. Sure enough Command Sergeant Major (CSM) G. remembered; and only one of my Battle Buddies First Sergeant(?) (1SG) S. (I believe a Specialist [SPC] at the time) couldn't resist the urge to get in the Bday licks if memory serves me right.
"A Letter to My Unborn Children"
By and large inspired by a couple of back to back viewings of Hamilton and fear that my current children will be at a private viewing of me before I have the chance to drop these random gems on them.
