“But mom!” “Now now, there will be none of that.” The mother scolded in a gentle tone. Her daughter, huffed in the doorway with her doll dangling from one hand. Her face contorted to express just how upset she was with the request her mother had made.

The River
Drip. Drip, Drip. Rain dangles from heavy branches of a tree to be released into the river below. Drip. Drip. Drip. Tiny droplets, consumed by a constantly moving fluid being, always heading in the same direction. As they fall into its eddy, reunited with the Source, droplets get carried away on the rhythmic currents. Clouds overhead have broken apart, to reveal sunbeams casting sparkling glares on the water’s serene surface. Deer shake themselves and drink from the cool river, hooves sliding on a muddy bank. Taking the next step closer to their salvation, murky liquid swirls around in the same way a person might stir cream into a cup of coffee. The constant babbling against stones sings through the forest. Steady wings cut through the air.

Beautiful Daydream
In uneven ebbs, my daydreams glide around the coliseum of my mind. Like gladiator horses springing to life and crashing violently into one another, they play out the fantasies, the alluring tall tales of my psyche that tell me happily about some of the more surreal aspects of living I can only mentally entertain.

Love or Retrenchment
Part 1: The Controlled Zone Merrell stared thoughtfully at the Kön-igual bath in the corner of the living room, opening a panel, slipping a set of tools from an arm sleeve, to tamper with the settings again. The plan had been in effect for three weeks, and differences in the body were evident. Light grey hands made quick work of the digital interface. Removing the robe around Merrell’s body revealed smooth grey flesh, non distinct gender features and no hair whatsoever, even on Merrell’s pale head. Stepping into the shower-like receptacle naked and closing the door, lights flickered all around. Merrell stood with eyes closed thinking about Jodi and the encounter that sparked this crazy situation they were pursuing. After all, Jodie had convincing evidence that Merrell couldn’t ignore.
