Today, music surrounds me; not only do I listen to it, but I write about it, and I hope to pursue a career in the industry. It wasn't always like this though. When I was in elementary school, all I cared about was becoming some amazing fashion designer, but now, as I look back, music was always there and inspiring me.
Kimetrius Foose, or more commonly known by his stage name, Lil Skies, is a 20-year-old rapper and songwriter from Pennsylvania. He released his debut album Shelby in March 2019 through his label Atlantic records. Lil Skies got his recognition in the rap game with his mixtape Life of a Dark Rose,which was released in late 2017 and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 charts. I got introduced to the rapper when listening to his single “Red Roses,” which peaked at number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Youtube has become the home for over-budgeted music videos, girls trying to be relatable, and easy ways to lose weight, so it can be hard to find content one actually enjoys. Sure we are given recommendations based on what we've previously watched, but all it takes is your sister signing in to your account for those recommendations to be inaccurate. It took some time, but through a series of scrolls and searches I've compiled a list of quality segments to watch on Youtube, specifically for those who love music like myself. This list, of course, excludes the obvious thing us music lovers love on youtube; music videos.
Sweat drips from your forehead onto the ground, as you hold your body in a plank. The timer that your eyes have been glued to for the past minutes seems to be going at its slowest, which is torturing you physically and mentally. Suddenly the one motivational song you’ve been playing over and over agin stops and you remember have a cup of ice cream waiting for you in your fridge. The sweating, the pain, and frustration all comes to an end and instead you devour a whole carton of ice cream. What if you kept working out? What if you had more motivational songs that helped you through a whole workout?
