Bio
I adore words and I love what happens when we grab them, sleep with them, holler and scream and laugh at them! I love what happens when we throw them in the air and watch them fall magically from our minds onto paper!

It Was When
So, I asked myself, ‘when did it all begin?’ It was when I let someone tell me that I wasn’t good enough. It was when I looked in the mirror, turned side to side and back again. It was when I let those words sink into my spirit and sit, and marinate, and take hold.

Scorned Pt. 14
Paradise Rehab Center – Afternoon – 1 month later “One more, one more! Come on, Derek you got this! YES!” Morgan collapsed against the mat sweating and breathing hard but happy at the progress he had made since being back. Things he never thought he’d be able to do again he could do now. Truman had been relentless, yet he met every challenge. He wanted to be home with Penelope not as an invalid but as the man she’d fallen in love with. He wanted to return to life on his terms and on his own two feet.

Scorned Pt. 13
Potomac General – Penelope, Fran and Dave paced the waiting room floor. Derek had been rushed back to the hospital for examination and testing for pain that he’d been hiding for the last few weeks. The doctors had given them several scenarios; some good and some not so good. They wanted to be hopeful, but hope had often been the enemy in their line of work.

Penelope
Penelope had to make a decision, one that she rarely if ever had to make. If she was going to save her marriage to Derek and if she was going to continue being his solace, then she would have to make the decison to be patient. Penelope knew Derek and all of his demons too well. He would fight for the right to fight them alone and he'd insist that he was fine even as he drowned, pride first in the black lagoon of dispair.

Scorned Pt. 12
Potomac General Hospital – Penelope stepped into Derek’s room just as the two men began to wheel him out. She saw the relief in his eyes as she approached. Penelope was so proud of him knowing that what he was about to endure was no picnic. Fran and Dave smiled while quietly slipping passed the men and the gurney into the hallway.

Scorned Pt. 11
Two Days Later... Potomac General Hospital – Morning – The room was extremely quiet, and Derek realized that even though he and his mother had managed to get Penelope to go home, he didn’t like waking up without her in the room. He missed her terribly, especially this morning. With most of the swelling around his spine gone, there still had been no change in his ability to feel his legs. The team of doctors who’d been working on his case had decided to begin a rigorous plan of physical therapy beginning today. His chest wound was healing nicely and most of the time his pain was manageable. Derek was nervous; everything was riding on therapy. Since meeting Penelope he’d had dreams of having a family and being able to run and play and wrestle with them. Never in his wildest dreams did he think that he could possibly be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Abigail (Pt. 2 of Derek)
Home of Abigail Berger - Morning Abigail jumped when the doorbell rang. She wasn't expecting company and after Niles' arrest, she didn't want any either. It rang again and reluctantly, she made her way to the door. She was surprised as she looked through the peephole.
