'The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special' Coming to Disney+ November 17
If you ever want to make Star Wars fans cringe, all you need to do is mention the Star Wars Holiday Special. Released on November 17, 1978, it featured the cast of the films and involved Chewbacca's family celebrating Life Day on Kashyyyk. The special is infamous for its awkward moments, including a cooking segment with the words, “Stir, whip, stir, whip, whip, whip, stir.” It includes such nonsensical things as a video by Jefferson Starship. George Lucas himself despises the special, having said that he wishes that he could destroy every copy in existence. On Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, he reconfirmed to Jon Favreau (who has said that he would like to take a stab at a new holiday special) that this special is not canon.

'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' To Be Rebooted With A Fresh Dramatic Approach
Reboots, reboots, and more reboots. This is the age in which we live. The word "reboot" has almost become a curse word in some circles, though there are some reboots that work really well. Off the top of my head, I would throw Bates Motel, Hannibal, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes into that category. Now, people are left wondering whether a reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a beloved sitcom that ran from 1990 to 1996, can work.

Updated Report on Production Restart For 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,' 'Hawkeye,' and 'Loki'
Can you hear that sound, my fellow slates of culture? Yes, it is indeed an update on one of our favorite high-grossing franchises, which is aptly named the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, this time around, it is some slightly dour news, as reports of three productions have been halted due to the unavoidable news that is the current pandemic. With the famous "Infinity Saga" bringing about the story arc end **SPOILERS** of both Iron Man and Captain America, we the audience were going to be treated with Black Widow, but it was pushed back to November. Playing a pseudo domino effect on the franchise as it were, this has resulted in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and Loki all to being delayed.

Adria Arjona To Star Opposite Diego Luna In 'Rogue One' Spinoff Series On Disney+
When Disney and Lucasfilm released Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December 2016, it was a huge it. Lots of viewers felt that the making of this direct prequel to the original Star Wars film was justified and worked well despite not being part of the Skywalker saga proper. Naturally, with all of the positive reception, a TV series acting as a prequel to Rogue One was greenlit for Disney+. First announced as a Cassian Andor series with Diego Luna back in the role, it has since been confirmed that K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) will be part of the show, and we can be sure to see much of the Rebel Alliance in the time leading up to Rogue One and the original trilogy.

Release Date Has Not Changed For 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' Says James Gunn
This year has seen the delay of many films thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is best to be safe, but many people have been wondering when they may see all of the movies that they have been anticipating. It may be a while for things to return to how they were, but people cannot help but speculate. Movies are a form of escapism, and lots of people crave escapism during a crisis.

'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Trailer Rumored to Drop During NBA Playoffs
The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars TV series, dropped on Disney+ November 12, 2019, as one its flagship titles when the streaming service launched. It stars Pedro Pascal (whose acting credits include the Netflix original Narcos, as well as HBO’s Game of Thrones) as Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, who, along with his sidekick "The Child,” fights off other members of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, as well members of the Imperial remnant during the show's first season run of eight episodes. The show had cameo roles by such stars as Clancy Brown, Bill Burr, and even Academy Award-nominated director Werner Herzog playing the character know as "The Client." The show's main antagonist, the ruthless Moff Gideon (played by Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad fame, ended the show's first season wielding the Darksaber, a welcome nod to the animated series The Clone Wars.

Stars of DC's 'The Suicide Squad' Wish James Gunn A Happy Birthday Via Video
On the big screen, Suicide Squad has not had the best reputation. When this DC film came out in 2016, reception was generally negative. Live-action DC films were perceived in a negative light, especially in light of the then-recent release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Focusing on a team of “bad guys,” Suicide Squad was different from what the comic book movie audience normally got. It could have worked, but the execution just did not have a near-universal resonance. One could even argue that the best Suicide Squad movies are the animated films Batman: Assault on Arkham and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, which are set in the Arkhamverse and the DC Animated Movie Universe, respectively.

'Doom Patrol' Season 2 Maintains Weirdness, Touches Upon Trauma, But Ends Too Quickly
Doom Patrol just wrapped up its second season (sort of). Trying to be as spoiler-free as possible, I have very mixed feelings about how it ended. However, this is still my favorite live-action DC show. To those unfamiliar, I may have to provide a little background about the characters.

Rapper Action Bronson Drops New Single “Latin Grammy’s”
Action Bronson, the 36-year-old rapper from Queens, New York, dropped his first single of 2020, titled "Latin Grammys." The single, which sits at 2 minutes and 50 seconds, fuses his signature pop culture references from Derik Jeter, football, and his neighborhood Flushing, Queens. With a Latin jazz-inspired horn section, is a welcome return to the music scene since his 2019 EP “Lamb Over Rice," which was released on November 22 of that year. The song features the humor that Action has brought since hitting the scene with 2010’s "Imported Goods." "Latin Grammys" references his love for pop culture via such lyrics as, "I fly the plane better than Tom Cruise / Drive cars like Dale Sr. with my feet up / Lotus pose like Shiva on the floor / For the fight with my seat next to Jeter."

After a 15-Year Absence, Christopher Eccleston Returns to 'Doctor Who' in 'The Ninth Doctor Adventures' Audio Series
When Doctor Who returned as an ongoing TV series in 2005, fans old and new were introduced to the Ninth Doctor, portrayed by Christopher Eccleston. He played an incarnation of The Doctor who is haunted by the results of the Time War, a Doctor who feels alone in the universe with his homeworld Gallifrey gone. Though Eccleston only had one 13-episode series as The Doctor, he became a favorite among some fans who have been clamoring for his return to the franchise.

'An American Pickle' Review - Seth Rogen Comedy Film Is Fun But Predictable
This review will be spoiler-free for a time, and then there will be a spoiler warning toward the end. An American Pickle is a comedy film that has just been released as an HBO Max original. Written by Simon Rich and based on his short story “Sell Out,” this Brandon Trost-directed film features Seth Rogen in two roles. Reading the premise of the film is enough to entice a viewer to check it out. The film starts in 1919, with Rogen playing an Ashkenazi Jew named Herschel Greenbaum, who, along with his wife Sarah, eventually emigrates from Schlupsk, Eastern Europe to New York City. One day, while on the job, he falls into a vat of pickles and is brined for a century. (Yes, he became a pickle, in a sense, but he does not literally become a pickle like Rick Sanchez. And anyway, Rogen has already played a talking hot dog.)
