Whose the Boss - The Parent or the Child
The question ‘Should parents be allowed to smack their child?’ was recently posted on a popular social media site. A string of comments followed. The younger generation was against corporal punishment, the older generation saw nothing wrong with it.

Age Discrimination - Young vs. Old
An HR manager recently posted a message that he had hired a woman over 50 and had taken quite a bit of heat for it from the younger generation. There were a number of comments, I put in my two cents and commended him for his decision. I added that given the choice between a 25-year-old and a 50-year-old, I would pick the 50-year-old every time.

Toronto Is A Ghost Town
The atmosphere is positively unnerving. The bustling city of Toronto has turned into a ghost town. When I came to work this morning (I’m not one of the lucky ones who can work from home), I checked my phone to see if I perhaps had made a mistake and it was 7:00 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. It was indeed shortly before 8:00 a.m., but where were the cars, where were the people?

Spiders Are Only Good For One Thing
People are weird. I’ve said it a number of times and with each passing day, I’m becoming more and more convinced of it. Have you heard the latest? A woman in Australia has rescued a spider and called it Charlotte. Yes, you read that right, she RESCUED a SPIDER!!!

Dealing With Anxiety
The other day I had an anxiety attack, or shall I say another anxiety attack because there have been a few. Rather than taking medication, my doctor asked if I would be interested in attending an anxiety class. Hm, I’m not exactly a big fan of these self-help groups, but okay, I would give it a shot. As expected, it didn’t go well for me, in fact, I was kicked out of the group.

Bad and Potentially Dangerous Advice
I received an email this morning, advertising a book on healing breast cancer the natural way. This immediately brushed me up the wrong way. How can a writer, a female doctor no less, give such bad and potentially extremely dangerous advice?
