The Owl
By this point in the ceremony, the fire was roaring as if possessed by the devil himself, the socializing between villagers was coming to an end, and most of the villagers were dressed in their white gowns. It has now become time to continue on with the towns' oldest tradition, simply referred to as "The Ceremony", this one night of every year, the town celebrates their founding and prays for a good harvest by human sacrifice. The unlucky individual who is picked is crucified on an upside down cross and lit upon fire. Every year, when the offering is on the cross, the villagers always have the same reaction. They stare at the offering as if entranced by the fire, so much so that they cannot even hear the cries of agony from the towns "lucky" sacrifice. When the cries of terror end and the fire begins to dwindle, the town rejoices and embraces each other with happiness. Another successful ceremony and the hope for another successful harvest in the coming year.

A Day at the Winery
Scarred hearts meet in an unlikely place. Whose pain was worse? Is the dagger still buried deep in yours or has it just not healed yet? Did it break your heart for good, or can I mend your broken heart? Love brings out the absolute best and worst of us. So far, I've seen smiles and joy as if the sun has never stopped shining and not even a single raindrop on the horizon could ruin your happiness. Is this genuine, or is your mask firmly glued so tightly that not a soul will ever know the truth? Are you happy? Are you happy with me? Are you happy with yourself? Do you drown your sorrows in the bottle as a way to forget? Do you drink to numb the pain? Does the world make you feel hopeless and lost as if you'll never find the way out? Let me be your guide. Take my hand and hold on tight as I whisk you away from the melancholy feeling you call life. Let me give you what you have been craving your entire life. Don't let go and fall deeper into the abyss and let the darkness overtake you. Allow me to show you the light, the joy, the happiness that your heart has been yearning for all these years. Let me show you what it is like to be truly loved. All I have to say to you is this...

Love at the Lake
The smile of pure joy on your face; the kind that makes your lips purse and your eyes squint. Sweaty palms and a flutter of nerves in your chest like a hummingbird taking flight. I pull you in close to feel your warmth against me as we capture the memory in a photograph so that we may never forget the happiness we shared on as beautiful a day as possible. I wish this feeling would last forever.

A Beautiful Life
He walked through the woods on a crisp autumn day. The dried leaves crunched with each step under his large boots as he departed from the wood. His sheathed blade dangled from his hip and danced with each subsequent step. Each breathe could be seen in the air as a fine mist was expelled from his mouth as he trekked away through the muddy ground. Finally, he reached his rusty, worse for wear, and weather-beaten red truck. He gazed around without the sight of a single soul. He paused for a moment before unlocking the door as he took the instant in with a smile on his face as he glanced back from where he emerged from the wood. He entered his vehicle and proceeded to drive away. The sun could be seen setting in the distance with an array of expressive colors as he made his way to the main road.
