Spike Milligan: Advocacy through Poetry
Spike Milligan's legacy as a writer, and comedian is - by anyone's standards - impressive. You can't overlook the contributions of Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe, and Michael Bentine, but Milligan - most admit - was the anarchic driving force behind the groundbreaking 'The Goon Show' which first hit the airways in 1951.

I'm Intelligent AND Mentally Ill. And That's Okay
I am a relatively intelligent person. I am university-educated and have worked as a college lecturer. My primary field is the theatre but I am well-read, and - although my preference would be to bore you for hours talking about Shakespeare and Beckett - I would also be happy to have a conversation about F. Scott Fitzgerald, Maya Angelou, Friedrich Nietzsche, Carl Jung, Frida Kahlo. or the French Revolution.

Trust me — less organizational effort has gone into Antarctic expeditions. Well, maybe not Shackleton’s — that one could have done with a smidge more planning.

I Have the Face of an Idiot
I have the face of an idiot. Let me explain. About ten years ago I was temping in the offices of a large insurance firm. I'm not going to say it was the dullest job I've ever done... actually, I am going to say that. It was the dullest job I'd ever done. It was a bastion of boredom. I've had more exciting visits to the toilet.
