Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy Dies From COVID-19 Complications
Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, if you heard the names Siegfried and Roy, it was with a mixture of awe and admiration. The two were among the biggest magicians and illusionists in Las Vegas, and their shows were made even more impressive with their impressive array of big cats.

Stephanie Beatriz, I Love You!
I realize that I'm several seasons late to the Brooklyn Nine-Nine party, but forgive me. I only loosely followed the show previously because, quite frankly, I didn't have the time between teaching high school full time and raising two daughters.

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 12 Struggles With Editing
The one thing I've always liked about RuPaul's Drag Race is the way the show illustrates the relationships between the contestants and the contestants and the judges. You can learn a lot about the struggles and triumphs these drag queens have to cope with just in a short hour-long show, and my daughters and I have been along for the ride over the course of 12 seasons.

Everyday Heroes: A Nurse And A Pharmacist Walk Into Work
I grew up surrounded by nurses and, come to think about it, there were a few pharmacists I came to know growing up as well. It was very much a part of my world to see my mother, who was a palliative care nurse, getting ready to see clients, or writing reports, or going to see pharmacists about things that her clients might have needed.

Sir Patrick Stewart Sparks Love Of Language With #ASonnetADay
#SirPatrickStewart might be best known for roles like Professor Charles Xavier in films like Logan and Days of Future Past, or to older generations as Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation (and more recently, Picard), but for those of us following the talented thespian on social media, Stewart is the man behind #ASonnetADay.

RIP, Kenny Rogers - A Hero To Many
I remember growing up in Borden, Ontario, Canada, and listening to my dad's unending stream of country music. He was a farm kid from way back, and outside of a love of Elvis songs and music, if it was country, he listened to it. There was Mickey Gilley, the Statler Brothers, and The Oak Ridge Boys on a permanent playlist in my house, plus a singer I hadn't yet gotten familiar with: #KennyRogers.

How One Teacher Altered My Course
When you're young, you have no idea who inspires you to become greater than what you realize you are. You're focused on your friends, your favorite toys, and what you enjoy doing. You don't think about who inspires you to change your life and pursue something that you'd never even really dreamed of.

To Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Stephen Lecce: I am a parent of two girls, ages 15 and a half and 11, and I have had enough with your lies and your threats when it comes to Ontario's education system.

Why Do We Care About Harry And Meghan So Much?
Can we just let Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, move on with their lives? Don't get me wrong. I'm not so cold and unfeeling of a person not to understand the draw that these two have. There's something magical about kings, queens and princesses marrying their prince.
