Chrissy Teigen, John Legend Lose Son Jack
#ChrissyTeigen's latest tweet broke my heart. Here is a woman who has openly expressed her challenges in conceiving a child, who has spoken from the heart about IVF treatments while conceiving daughter Luna and son Miles, and who was both surprised and seemingly elated - I could only assume so, at any rate, given I do not know her or her husband - at the news that she'd conceived her third child naturally.

RIP Chadwick Boseman: You Were A Class Act
I was shocked in ways I could not describe when I'd heard about Chadwick Boseman's passing on August 28 at just 43 years old. This was different than someone you sort of expect is going to die soon from significant health issues or even old age. There were no outward signs that the man was ill. In fact, it was just the opposite: as King T'Challa in the #Marvel Cinematic Universe, #ChadwickBoseman was the absolute picture of health. He looked fit and he was young. He more than held his own onscreen in a series of films that could only be described as rigorous for those performing in them.

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Alum, ChiChi DeVayne, Dies At 34
Like most people who didn't have heavy exposure to the world of drag prior to the advent of RuPaul's Drag Race, I had no clue who ChiChi DeVayne was prior to my 11-year-old introducing the show to me back a few years ago. When we finally hit Season 8 of the Emmy-winning competition series, #ChiChiDeVayne knocked me back on my heels. She didn't strike me as being as refined as some of her other #DragRace colleagues, such as #NaomiSmalls, #CourtneyAct, #RoxxxyAndrews or even #Katya, and she was a bit abrasive at first. That was what made every moment when ChiChi was on screen totally captivating, though.

The Bravery Of Drag Queens
Before I get into the heart of what I'm writing, I have to say one thing: drag queens are incredibly brave. Drag queens in particular are oftentimes members of the LGBTQ+ community - there are bioqueens, among others, who have explored the art that is being a drag queen, and are oftentimes males who might be confronted with extreme prejudice or even violence. Like most instances of discrimination and prejudice, this is incredibly painful to confront and witness, let alone go through. Like many members of the LGBTQ+ community, drag queens have had a history with their loved ones which may have meant cutting ties with family and friends, struggles with alcohol and drugs, and struggles with their mental health. To continue to live their truth and perform on stage night after night in spite of all the challenges they might encounter and go through is a testament of the courage they've had to muster to get through their lives.

Don't Dismiss 'Harry Potter' Because of J.K. Rowling's Transphobia
The Harry Potter series of books has been frequently credited for the uptick in kids wanting to read again. The books and the movies are among the best loved fiction works ever. Through Harry Potter and his adventures, kids have learned that just because you don't fit in doesn't mean you can't go on to do great things; sometimes, it's because you don't fit in that you can do some remarkable things with some equally remarkable people you can rely on.

Has Bryan Adams Gone Batty?
As Canadians, we are generally believed to be unfailingly polite, and our good humor and manners are often the stuff of both jokes and legend. That may have now changed thanks to Canadian icon #BryanAdams, who was to have begun a three-night stint at London, England's #RoyalAlbertHall on May 11, 2020.

Wishing Jerry Stiller 'Serenity Now!'
The only reason I ever really watched #Seinfeld was because of George's dad, played by the inimitable #JerryStiller. Stiller, who passed away May 11, 2020 at the age of 92 of natural causes, was an onscreen grouch whom everyone knew. Everyone knows the guy who gets worked up over everything, or who yells about just about any subject just because he can. When he first started appearing on Seinfeld as George's dad, I was at first a bit shocked; it was the first time I'd ever seen a character like that on television. There was something loveable about the guy, though - something about him irritated you but he was somehow inherently loveable all at once, and he was incredibly entertaining.

Rock 'N' Roll Legend Little Richard Dead At 87
#LittleRichard, the man behind such hits as "Good Golly, Miss Molly!" and "Long Tall Sally," has died at the age of 87. He was perhaps the pioneer behind the androgynous rock star image later popularized by the likes of David Bowie and Prince, frequently coming out in impressive pompadour hairstyles, clothes that glittered under the spotlight, and wearing colors that were a significant departure for other rockers of his generation. Gone were the muted tones that many of Little Richard's contemporaries wore; when Little Richard came on stage, he was wearing androgynous makeup (usually some sort of eyeliner, at the very least), and he would be wearing clothes that, if not brightly colored, were festooned in crystals or sequins. In later years, he would hit the stage in shoes with a slight heel, shoulder length curls and the same bright colors.
