Dave Chappelle, Hannah Gadsby, and the Offended MassesTop Story - October 2021
Well, I honestly thought that the whole controversy over Dave Chappelle's new Netflix special, The Closer, would have blown over by now. But, it seems that it's still front and center in the media, and getting spicier. Why? Probably because the media likes it that way.

How Do I Deal With Men Who Are Threatening Women?
Today, something disturbing happened while driving. I stopped at a stop light. A guy with a squeegee came and attempted to start "cleaning" my windshield. The reason I put "cleaning" in quotes is because the window often comes out dirtier than how it started when these guys "clean" it. So, I told the guy no. I didn't want him to do it. I really dislike it when people do that. They don't ask permission, they just start doing it. I find it terribly...problematic.

Do Other Animals Enjoy Their Food?
I just got back from a long road trip, and that means I had 8 hours of solitary confinement in a car. And THAT means I had a lot of time to think about a lot of stupid things. For example, one of the thoughts that popped into my head was...do other animals enjoy their food?

Bike Safety: Common Sense? Or Tyranny?
Now, I've had a lot of weird interactions on social media over the years. I often stick my nose in where I shouldn't and interject myself into conversations unnecessarily. I did it again the other day and have been left baffled by what happened.

The Day Winnipeg's Anti-Vax Movement Went Too Far
If you want a lesson on how a movement can instantly commit suicide and destroy any shred of humanity and decency that it MIGHT have had, one should look no further than today's anti-vax, anti-mask, anti-health measures protest that took place at the main hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Spare a Thought for the Boys of Afghanistan
The US has ended it's war in Afghanistan after 20 years, and the Taliban that they overthrew have taken control of Afghanistan yet again. As Westerners look on, horrified by what they see happening, the news has been filled with stories about how women will suffer under the Taliban, and it is completely understandable to be concerned. The Taliban have a history of brutality towards women, forcing them behind closed doors, to dress from head-to-toe in burqas, preventing women from working and going to school, and dishing out violent punishments to women and girls for minor indiscretions.

Learning About Afghanistan in 5 Documentaries
When two planes hit the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11th, 2001, it was inevitable that the US would be out for blood. When it was revealed that the man responsible for the terrorist attack was Osama Bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda, it was clear that he wasn't going to get away with this. Where was he at that time? He was holed up in Afghanistan where he had been allowed to grow his terrorist network thanks to the Taliban.

REVIEW: HBO's Brutal Takedown of Woodstock 99
In the summer of 1999, I bought myself a ticket to go see the most talked about event of the year. And what a way to end the millennium it was going to be. Rage Against the Machine? Limp Bizkit? Sevendust? Metallica? Korn? Tragically Hip? The Offspring? All on one weekend? Yes, please! Off to Woodstock 99 I went.

Let's Talk About Bipolar Rage
Last night, I experienced a bout of Bipolar Rage (or Bipolar Anger, or, according to the Mayo Clinic, Intermittent explosive disorder). I found myself in the street in front of my apartment screaming at some guy that I didn't know. Although it seemed that I was out of control in many ways, I wouldn't have actually hit him. At least I don't think so. I screamed profanities at him for quite a while at the top of my lungs, and I'm sure I could be heard from a long way off. There is a bar across the street and I know that I got the attention of every patron there.
