In Defense of Classic Disney Princesses
I’m going to Disneyland Paris next year! I’ve already been about three times, but my Aunt Dawn really wants to go as she had never been. I was meant to be going with some friends in 2020 which of course never happened. At first I wasn’t that keen on going; it’s expensive and I’ve already been there many times and I feel like I’ve grown out of it.

Writing Poems Using ONLY the Words in supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious was one of the words I really wanted to use in this challenge. I was happy somebody suggested it over on Discord. I was tired last night, and I wrote some poems using the second longest word in the English Dictionary: antidisestablishmentarianism. When working with long words, sometimes some of the letters appear invisible. I also scrapped the 15 minute rule cause poetry shouldn’t feel rushed.

St Fandom Academy Part 10
The tearoom for the staff was a modest display. Wooden tatami floors, and cushions all around the floor. Blackadder thought surely the school couldn't be so poor that they couldn't afford tables and chairs. Blackadder observed the orange swirls and the upcycled curtains. He felt he had entered a festival tent filled with weed. The scent of the tea didn't help either. In the tea room were Professor Snape, Miss Lust, Mr Mackey, and Paddington Bear. Seeing all of them together in one room made Blackadder feel as if he had walked in on a live-action remake of a Disney film. It was a true colour clash with Snape and Lust's black attire, Mr Mackey's green standing out from the walls, and Paddington Bear's blue coat and red hat against the pink curtains in the bottom-left corner.

Writing Poems Using Only the Letters in Australia 🇦🇺
After struggling and having a mind block on some of the poetry challenges I set for myself, I am back with some more experiments following my Impossible Poetry Challenge. This time I am only using the letters that are present in Australia. This challenge is stating to make me think of a previous poetry challenge Vocal staff put out where you had to write a poem but the words could only be word letters or less. They’ve just published another poetry challenge that has to rhyme. I will do that one at some point, I think.

Can I Write Poems Using Only Palindromes?
On both online and in-person workshops, I have been taking part in various poetry challenges. I’ve now been inspired to challenge myself in writing new poetry using forms that I don’t always use very often. I’ve been inspired by many YouTube play through of the old Red, Blue and Yellow Pokemon games where they try to beat the game in the most intense rules possible.

I Got My Book In a Library Top Story - September 2023
I had some exciting news in my email. A few months ago, I sent a few of my poetry books over to the National Poetry Library in London. I really hope to one day actually visit the place someday, because I think it will be a place where I love. I already adore the Oxford Poetry Library. A lot of the libraries near me don’t have a lot of poetry books, so it’s really nice to know there are libraries dedicated just for poetry.

All the Books I read in August 2023
I went away twice for some extended weekends. In those bags I had already picked up the books I was planning on reading and popped the in my bag. It was fun reading last month’s stuff and especially reading books that people from Vocal had written as well.

An Extraordinary August
August has been a month like no other. So extraordinary I thought that I deserved it’s own Vocal post. August always tends to be an adventurous month. Two of my best friends have birthdays four days apart from each other, even though I haven’t got to see them yet I keep in touch with them which was nice. I don’t remember what I was up to on August 1st other than returning to work after Vegan Campout. Work is getting busier but I still enjoy the job. I’ve been there for over a year and I feel like my quality of life has improved as well as my salary. It just amazes me what a change of job can do for you.
