METV brings back weekday and Saturday morning cartoon classics
Saturday mornings are back METV is starting the new year off with a bang by bringing back classic Saturday morning cartoons. Beginning Saturday, January 2, a 3 hour block of some of the most beloved animation ever can be seen. Comic and actor Bill Leff will be the host for the cartoons of your childhood. METV says one of their biggest request from fans is to bring back Saturday morning cartoons. There is nothing like a television network that actually listens to the people who support it. I personally have been noticing that the cartoons my grandchildren watch just are not the same as those my husband and I and our children grew up with.

James Patrick Stuart's father passes away from pneumonia after a fall
Actor James Patrick Stuart portrays villain Valentin Cassadine on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. He recently announced the death of his beloved father Chad Stuart. If the name sounds familiar it's because along with Jeremy Clyde, Chad Stewart performed as the 1960s British duo Chad and Jeremy. They had hits with "Yesterday's Gone" and "A Summer Song". Both can be heard in the following video. Clyde and Jeremy were part of what was called the British Invasion when English acts like the Beatles began having hit songs in America.

Victoria's and Sally's fangs are showing on 'The Young and the Restless'
On The Young and the Restless, Victoria has not been very subtle regarding her feelings about her ex husband and the former wife of Cain Ashby. She has made snide comments to Lily who did not back down and is holding her on. On Monday, Viki grilled Billy about his holiday schedule and was clearly disturbed when he said he was going out of town for one night. She asked if Lily were joining him and insinuated that her children's father was grateful that his coworker stuck by him. Victoria was tying to downplay the connection as somehow superficial and Billy came right out and asked her if she had a problem with him seeing Lily.

Singing for your supper has roots in Christmas
There are traditions associated with the holiday season that have been carried out for years. Many times the origins of these yearly rituals are not thought about or perhaps not even understood. There are phrases in Mother Goose tales and children's poetry may not mean much today but had great significance during the time in which they first came to light. This is the case with a children’s nursery rhyme from the 18th century called Little Tommy Tucker which is as follows:

‘The Young and the Restless’. Christmas Day episode will warm your heart
On December 25, The Young and the Restless will rebroadcast their Christmas Eve episode from 2019. This was one of the last lucid moments for Dina Mergeron who recently passed away from Alzheimer’s disease. Marla Adams’s did a wonderful job of portraying the Abbott family matriarch as she dealt with the deadly illness. Numerous fans of the CBS daytime drama said the way Dina’s situation played out was just like that of loved ones they had who died from this form of Dementia. Last Christmas, Dina was just sitting and no longer recognizing her family members.

Winter Solstice the longest night of the year is responsible for the biggest holiday of the year
There are a lot of myths and legends surrounding the Winter Solstice, which takes place on December 21. This day is also known as the hiemal solstice or hibernal solstice, This is a mid-winter occurrence that happens twice a year when one of the Earth's poles, North or South, has its maximum tilt away from the Sun. It occurs once each in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. The Winter Solstice is the day with the shortest period of daylight and the longest night of the year. As the Sun shines in the sky, on December 21 it will be at its “lowest daily maximum,” while at the pole, there is continuous darkness or twilight during the winter solstice. The reverse takes place during the Summer Solstice.

Sonny has amnesia and disappears on General Hospital
A few weeks back, there were two seemingly unrelated spoilers for General Hospital. The first was that Max Gail was returning soon as Mike Corbin’s ghost to advise his son. The second was that Sonny would have amnesia and reflect upon his life. Now it appears that these two events might just be related. Spoiler alerts for Monday say a body will be pulled from the water where the bridge collapsed and Julian and Sonny fell in. Spoilers allege that Julian will be dead and Sonny will be missing. If Carly’s husband comes out of the water disoriented he could very well have a temporary lapse in his memory and this might be what causes him to have visions of Mike.

African Americans are not one size fits all
I turned on CNN last night and I had to laugh. Please let me say there is nothing funny about COVID-19 but what is humorous is to watch how the media is trying to manipulate people of color. There were two African American women as guests talking to Don Lemon and Sanjay Gupta. One was a college professor and the other was a pastor. They were saying how black faith leaders should push the vaccine from their pulpits. I understand the importance of the vaccine for those who desire to become inoculated. What I cannot wrap my head around, however, is the logic regarding people of color.
