Anti-Semitic Trump supporter wants Jews to die
The aftermath of January 6th continues to expose the true nature of Trump supporters every single day. During the attack on the Capitol, they urinated and defecated all over the place like wild beasts. They erected a noose, chanted hang Mike Pence and some admitted to wanting to assassinate various members of Congress. American flags were removed and Trump flags erected in their stead. Confederate flags were carried through the White House and an innocent black woman in LA was attacked by a group of Trump supporters. President number 45 has brought this on by winking and nodding at extremist groups and now a photo has emerged of a man wearing a disgusting anti-Semetic Tee shirt.

My Home Away From Home
I wrote an article about my hometown, Blue Ridge, Va. where I actually lived growing up. Being a small town we had to travel west on Route 460 to Roanoke, 10 miles away for grocery stores, doctors, and entertainment. I moved to Roanoke in 1979 and believe it or not there are still some buildings in place, that were a part of my childhood and teenage years. Each of these landmarks is within a one-mile radius and within walking distance from each other. I woke up at 5:30 AM this morning desiring McDonald's Coffee and went to the restaurant that was near the downtown area of the city. It was dark of course and as I began driving home an idea took place in my mind.

Midnight motion
It’s a Wednesday night and I’m tossing and turning in bed. I cannot concentrate to continue reading my book and there is nothing on television that interests me. I try unsuccessfully to fall asleep and I can’t sleep. It’s a few moments before 11:30 PM and in my frustration I make a decision. It’s not one I make lightly but I put on some clothes. I debate whether I should walk or drive, but I know I am going out. I’ve decided to go to the store as I’ve done many other times. My family does not like it, but heading out near midnight whether driving or walking is my therapy. I guess you could say I’m a midnight owl.

Swee Pea: Fun facts
Now that MeTV is airing classic cartoons on Toon in with me, I am enjoying so many of my favorite animated programs from childhood. This morning I viewed Popeye the Sailor in “ We Aim to Please”. In this episode, Popeye and Olive Oyl open a restaurant and Wimpy shows up. He had no money and says his famous signature line: “ I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” As a child, I would laugh when my great aunt Gladys would utter these words.

My Hometown memories
I grew up in a small town in Botetourt County, Viegina called Blue Ridge. It’s on route 460 east and in between the larger cities of Roanoke and Lynchburg and yes the mountains do have rims of blue. It is unfortunate that all of the accompanying photos except for one represent memories, as the town of my childhood is no more. Being born African American and raised in poverty, stripped me of being able to showcase my past. The cover photo is of an area we called the ball diamond and it sits at the top of what was once referred to as Ni••er Hill.

Billy gave Summer a pass on The Young and the Restless
Tuesday on The Young and the Restless, Billy Abbott apologized for hurting Summer by rejecting her after they slept together. A number of viewers have wondered why their night of passion had been swept under the rug for so long. Some thought it would come to light at a time when the revelation would have Victor, Nick, and Victoria on the warpath. At this point, now that Summer has accepted the apology, they can both move on. Even if the Newman’s found out it probably would not cause the damage now that it once would have.

‘The Young and the Restless’ throwback to Cash Cashman
The Young and the Restless has a rich history that was barely tapped into during the throw back episodes while the show was on hiatus. There are memorable characters who played a part in setting the stage for much of what is enjoyed by fans today who were not showcased. One such person was Cash Cashman who was portrayed by the late John Gibson. Longtime fans of the CBS daytime drama may recall this lovable scoundrel but if you first tuned in after 1982 you probably don’t have a clue. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and refresh ourselves with and or introduce this iconic character to new generations and explore his role in Genoa City history.

Carly Corinthos is hypocritical on 'General Hospital'
General Hospital fans are wondering who deemed Carly Corinthos the queen of the universe and gave her the authority to run other people's lives? Sonny's wife has been very self-righteous lately with both Ava Jerome and Nina Reeves as if she is living a squeaky clean life. Carly is the epitome of someone throwing stones while living in a glass house. She takes it upon herself to decide what is best for everyone else as if they cannot think for themselves. She has a disastrous track record yet continually inserts herself into the personal business of other Port Charles residents.

Radishes may relieve respiratory problems
I grew up in a county where everyone had a garden and ate healthy, except me. My cousins and friends would grab veggies straight out of the garden and eat apples, plums, pears, cherries, and persimmons right off the trees. For whatever reason, I had a strange appetite and no desire to eat fruits and veggies. As I got older and began understanding the role nutrition plays in our overall health, I began trying and enjoying more fresh foods. There are vegetables that I will eat when they are together in a garden salad, and radishes just happen to be one.
