Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis work together again in Super Bowl ad
One of the highlights of the Super Bowl each year is the commercials. In 2020 there was a popular add for Doretoes featuring rapper Lil Nas and veteran actor Sam Elliot. This year for game 55, popular couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have teamed up for a Super Bowl Cheerios commercial. The duo have not truly worked together since they were on That 70’s Show but agreed to the add. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis first met in 1998 when both were cast on That 70’s Show. They portrayed Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart who fell in love and dated off and on. At one point Kelso felt he had to propose but when Jackie turned him down, they both were happy.

Dollar Bill is backed into a corner on “ The Bold and the Beautiful’
The Bold and the Beautiful is causing fans to question what the writers are thinking. Spoilers say Liam will be the father of Steffy’s baby and social media posts indicate viewers don’t like it. I personally found one recent episode pretty eye opening and. I cannot be the only person who found something a little off regarding a specific scene. Last week, Katie, Wyatt, and Dollar Bill were all in the Spencer mogul’s office. There stood a woman who had been married to one man and had a sexual relationship with his son. The three of them were talking as if none of this made a difference but it does to the fans.

Simple Pleasures in My Hometown
This entry into the hometown contest explores local places where my family has enjoyed spending time. We live in Roanoke City, Virginia, and the cover photo is of my oldest son sitting atop McAfee Knob. It is located just outside of Salem Virginia which is a part of the Roanoke Valley. The hiking trail is a little over 7 miles round trip and the knob is at an elevation of 1,811 feet. There are parts of the trail that are straight up and can take your breath away. The good part is going back down the mountain you feel as if you are running because it is straight down. This is a popular area for locals and tourists as well. The view from the knob is breathtaking and well worth the climb.

Toon in with me
I invite the readers to toon in with me and find out about something that is near and dear to my heart. One of my guilty pleasures is binge-watching the cartoons that I grew up with. Boomerang and MeTV both recently added classic animation to their lineup. This is a testament to how many people still enjoy those old favorites. I curl up in the bed or in the living room on the couch with snacks and I’m good to go. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Marvin the Martian are among my favorites. I am enjoying Tom and Jerry Droopy Dog and Popeye as well.

Jane Elliot’s dramatic exit from General Hospital
Actress Jane Elliot began her career on General Hospital in 1978 and retired from the ABC daytime drama in 2017. Nothing official was ever mentioned about her future plans. Ms. Jane did not announce whether or not she might come back to the soap so it was assumed by fans that her leaving was permanent. Elliot said that after close to 40 years on the show she had given her all and it was time to leave. Many viewers thought she was taking the path of the man who was her on screen love interest.

The Andy Griffith Show-I can’t get enough
The Andy Griffith show debuted in 1960 when I was 2 years old. Now, 62 years later I simply cannot get enough of it. The series ran for 8 years but I have a special love for the 159 black and white episodes that were shown during the first 5 seasons. If I have watched each program at least 10 times that’s 1590 viewings but I know I have enjoyed so much more than that. One episode that is near and dear to my heart is the Christmas special which was the 11th program in season one. There is a Scrooge like character named Ben Weaver who goes from saying “Christmas? Haa” to being warm and caring and bearing gifts by the end of the episode.

‘The Bold and the Beautiful fans nominate Zoe as most hated
Carter Walton is a good guy on The Bold and the Beautiful and viewers believe he should find true love. His last relationship was many years ago with Maya Avant who ended up marrying Rick Forrester. Carter is now engaged to Zoe Buckingham but unfortunately, he has gotten himself involved with a nut job and is probably about to get his heart broken. Fans have been expressing their dislike for Carter’s fiancé on social media and on message boards for The Bold and the Beautiful.

Encouraging creativity in children during the pandemic
This captivating portrait was painted by my 8 year old granddaughter Jayla Grace. Her mom purchased her new painting supplies and turned her loose. Jayla and her brothers were homeschooled prior to the pandemic and were always encouraged to express themselves artistically. At age 6 we noticed Jayla had a gift for drawing exact replica’s of people and images. Her granddad and I kept our home filled with paper, pens and magic markers.

Nicolas Bechtel is needed on ‘‘General Hospital’
It’s time for General Hospital to bring Spencer Cassadine home. He should say goodbye to boarding school and have a private tutor. Joslyn Jacks and Cameron Weber are graduating high school this year so he would only have the summer to spend time with them and probably would not fit in well in a regular high school. Cam is already getting acceptance letters from college and Spencer is a few years behind the 18 year olds. Fifteen year Nicolas Bechtel began portraying Spencer at the tender age of 7. Since 2013, viewers have enjoyed watching him grow from a child into a young man whose voice is changing.

Cock A Doodle Doo To You
Cock A Doodle Doo is the term given to the sound a rooster makes. I grew up in the county and many of our neighbors had chickens which included roosters. I don’t particularly recall hearing them crow each morning at sunrise but I was given the impression that this is what they did. I recall the Kellogg’s Cornflake TV commercial where Cornelius Rooster could not get the proper sound out until he ate a bowl of cereal. He did his cock a doodle doo and the sun immediately popped up into the sky.

Beth Maitland of 'The Young and the Restless'
Actress Beth Maitland is best known for portraying Traci Abbott, Connolly, Carlton, in the CBS Daytime drama The Young and the Restless. She debuted on the soap opera in 1982 and remained until 1996. She returned in 2001 and continues to the present day on a recurring basis. In 2007 the character of Traci did a crossover to CBS sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful. Maitland was only supposed to be in the role of the Abbott sibling for 3 months but made such an impression on the powers that be, that they brought her on full-time.
