Anna Gordy Gaye the female powerhouse behind Motown
When most people think about Motown, it is the founder Berry Gordy or names of the top performers who recorded at the studio that come to mind. Hits like My Girl by the Temptations, and It Takes Two by Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrel, are etched in the psyche of music lovers of all generations. What may not be widely known is the role of a woman, who was behind the scenes of what began as Hitsville, USA in Detroit Michigan. Gordy's older sister Anna played a larger role in the hit making machine than most people may realize. Her accomplishments have not been celebrated as they should but today I sing her praises.

Chad Brannon returns to 'General Hospital'
According to spoiler alerts from Soap Dirt, a familiar face will soon be seen on General Hospital. Chad Brannon is slated to make a return trip to Port Charles but it is not known at this time who he will portray. Viewers are still angry that Lulu Spencer, Dev Corbin, Dustin Phillips, and Julian Jerome were written out of the ABC daytime drama. This may cause them not to be receptive to another character coming to town even if he is one that longtime viewers remember. There have also been rumors that Brook Lynn Quartermaine will return and be pregnant with Valentin Cassadine's baby but nothing has yet been confirmed.

Riff Hutton: From KFC to ‘General Hospital’
If a relatively new face in Port Charles seems familiar, there is a very good reason why. Riff Hutton portrays Lenny Canfield on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. Lenny's wife Phyllis is a nurse caring for Sonny Corinthos who has amnesia. She is also the woman who gave Nelle to the Benson family to raise after her maternal grandmother gave her away at birth. Lenny seems to be warming up to Sonny who calls himself Mike and viewers are wondering how this will all play out.

“The Rugrats’: revisiting Angelica Pickles
During COVID, many people are sharing that they are rediscovering favorite television shows on Retro television stations. One program that I am enjoying all over again is Rugrats. This is an American animated children's television series that was created in 1989 by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon. The programs focuses on a group of toddlers and their day-to-day activities which always seems to involve their life experiences that turn into wonderful adventures in the imaginations of the children.

‘General Hospital’ viewers wondering when Brooke Lynn will make an appearance
Spoilers from Soap Dirt suggested that Brooke Lynn Quartermaine might show up on General Hospital around Christmas to announce she is pregnant with Valentin Cassadine’s baby. Celebrity Cheat Sheat stated that Amanda Setton’s episodes would begin airing in January but neither prediction has come to pass. A bio of the actress on Wikepedia indicates she will return to GH some time this year, but offers no date. It’s now mid February and there has been no sign of Ned’s daughter in Port Charles.

‘The Young and the Restless’ viewers debate the fate of the Chancellor estate
Those who watch the Young and the Restless believe the writers have dropped the ball in regard to Kay Chancellor’s home. For a time, after Jeanne Cooper passed away the house was neither shown, nor mentioned. Viewers are now complaining that recent storylines have left the mansion devoid of residents and fans want to see someone enjoy the spacious house. Some viewers believed that Kevin and Chloe would reside there with their children and Esther while others considered the couple tone nothing more than squatters.

'The Bold and the Beautiful's Don Diamont heads to 'The Young and the Restless'
The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful have a really interesting and exciting crossover coming up soon. Don Diamont who portrays Dollar Bill Spencer in LA, will return to his old stomping grounds of Genoa City and torment Sally Spectra. Longtime soap fans recall that Diamont once portrayed Brad Carlton on Y&R and had a daughter Coleen when he was married to Tracy Abbott. Both Coleen and her father died but their memories live on. Shortly after his Y&R character was killed off, Diamont was hired on the CBS sister soap B&B as the son of publishing giant Bill Spencer Sr.

It's officially Eastertime as the Cadbury Bunny has made an appearance.
The Ground Hog seeing his shadow, or not signifies what the weather will be for the next 6 weeks. There is also something that makes it officially Eastertime at least in my eyes. It's the Cadbury Bunny and he has made his initial appearance for 2021. Since 1984 there have been a variety of television commercials promoting Cadbury creme-filled eggs that are only around in the spring. Today is February 15, there is snow on the ground, the temperature is near freezing in my neck of the woods and warm weather seems a million miles away.

Hold Public Speakers Accountable For Their Words
Everyone in the nation listened to the racist, divisive rhetoric of Donald Trump during the 4 years he was president, yet half of the registered voters cast a ballot for him anyway. Trump's hate speech played a part in the rioting on January 6 and many of those who took part admitted it was because of the words of the former president that they acted. Even so, Trump was acquitted of any wrongdoing during the impeachment hearings. As long as we do not hold public figures accountable for their rhetoric, they will continue to say things that cause controversy and lie to our faces.

Allow children's individual personalities to shine
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I believe this to be true. The above image was taken when my grandsons were 2 and 6. Today they are 9 and 13. The personalities you see in the photo have proven to be accurate through the years. My grandson Dre on the left is nonchalant regarding having his picture taken. My grandson Ty on the right is a camera ham. Dre often will not smile during photos and at times has asked that they not be taken. His "I don't care" look continues today and we do our best to respect him and not force him to pose for pictures.

Rebecca Crumpler the first African American female doctor
I am enjoying this challenge of writing about black femle innovators because I am learning a lot as I research. Today I share with the readers the amzing story of Rebecca Davis, Lee, Crumpler MD. She is an African American woman who dealt with the same issues of other black female innovators of her day which were racism and sexism. As with the other unsung heroes whose stories I have shared, Dr, Crumpler persevered through adversity and promoted diversity and this is why I admire her.

Mary Ingalls gave Bobby Brady his first kiss
One of the things that I enjoy about retro television is that I pick up on things I missed the first time around. On Valentine's Day MeTV aired romantic episodes of The Brady Bunch. One of them was the 100th show and was titled Never Too Young and focused on the smallest Brady boy, Bobby. He is having trouble understanding why his older brothers, Greg and Peter would rather kiss girls instead of playing ball with him. The elder siblings warn Bobby that one day he will understand but he ignores them.
